NRA Chief Wayne LaPierre to Step Down

I've never understood the internal squabblings and external animus to the NRA. What little I know about the NRA indicates that Wayne and his cronies were lavish with NRA funds. It is of course true, as for all organizations that handle a lot of cash. Leaders feel entitled. That said the NRA's abuses pale in comparison to criminal conspiracies like labor unions (public and private sector), grievance pressure groups (i.e. BLM), elected officials, government bureaucracies, and sadly, all too many mega-churches. Far too many ride chauffeured limousines from opulent offices to private jets to conferences in Las Vegas.

Abuse in other organizations does not excuse the hypocrisy of LaPierre's personal greed, the misuse of member's contributions, and the damage he has done to the NRA. Apparently with the ongoing support of the Board of Directors. Second generation Life Member here I will wait to see what happens next before they get money from me.

Well, the haters of the NRA, refusing to join or rejoin, because of Wayne, now have no excuse not to be a member. There are other great 2A groups out there, but none have the clout of the NRA.

I think I'll suggest a new fund raising campaign for the NRA called the QMRS membership campaign (Quitters Membership Renewal Surcharge). It's an extra 10 bucks to renew the membership of the quitters who bailed on the NRA during a challenging time.

As an over 40 years life member and a strong supporter of the NRA I cannot say I am sorry to see him go for many reasons. However with him being charged by that rot of an AG in NY I put little stock in the veracity of the charges.
I would also remind all the haters that no matter who is on trial one is innocent until PROVEN guilty. If found guilty by a jury well then let the chips fall. Until then do not convict by opinion. 2 cents

As If We Needed Another Reason To Cause Descent

Bekeart

Once I am convinced that things have REALLY improved I will post my NRA status.

NOPE...........I'd send that $10 to the GOA.

I'm glad he's gone. But I fear his replacement will be his own hand picked crony and nothing will change.

I have been a lifer since the Clinton years, no complaints from me. They have something to do with competitions and categories, score history and such. No better authority for training and safety. Think where we would be from 1871 until now without NRA.

Love, hate or don't care about La Pierre . . . Letitia James is a hack who abuses her office for political purposes and those who cheer her on best understand, she and the minions in her state are part of the Leftist apparatus that seeks to destroy not necessarily Wayne LaPierre but the NRA and private gun ownership.

For my part, if Wayne is guilty of the abuses they say he is and they find he indeed broke the law (not some twisted fake interpretation of some obscure statutes they can bend to suit their purpose) I don't care if they bury him; but it's not about Wayne - it's about running his organization out of business, buried and gone. You wanna cheer that, have the stones to stand up and say it . . . or, more likely, go and find a new excuse not to support the NRA and continue to hide behind false outrage.

Perhaps under new leadership the NRA can reach
its potential in membership among the more than
40 percent of Americans who own firearms. I
sincerely hope so.

I must admit I will NOT be rooting for that corrupt NY AJ. I also must say in the past ol Wayne and the NRA struck fear in the hearts of our political enemies. Lets get back to it
