Out of curiosity, why do you use the phrase "claim to fight for your 2nd Amendment rights"? [Underline mine.]

Hello @Hapworth thank you for the warm welcome.

Let me address your questions.
The reason for the survey is to determine some information based on actual members, potential members, or past members of various associations. As you well know there are many associations one can be involved with. However, we all have limited time to invest as quality active participants. If I'm going to invest time and resources, I need to do my homework first. What better place to start than people who are in the community? I know that you're dedicated NRA members. I don't discredit it, I never have, I'm just trying to get information, insight and knowledge for myself.

Being a new gun owner and concealed carry, I have an interest to protect my rights. I also want to support an organization that will do the good work that needs to be done to protect our constitutional freedoms.

It is very likely that I will join the NRA but I like my due diligence.

I'm an Endowment Member, and have been a NRA member since about 1970, (50 years). They can do more because of the massive number of "voters" they represent.

After being an annual member of the NRA for decades I finally became a life member recently. The NRA, with it's membership number is the big dog in the pro-gun side. I'm not disparaging any other organization but when the Anti-gun/gun control forces single out any organization it's the NRA they scream about. That says a lot, right there.

NRA all the way. I started membership about 1957 or 8. Became a Life in 1961. Now an Endowment member. Do I donate money, Yes, of course. The NRA needs funds like any other organization. Now the other outfits are good but don't pack the suds the NRA does.

I've been an NRA member since some time in the 60s, can't remember
what year that I first joined. Many gun owners seem to take the status
quo for granted. I hate to think what the US would be like if we didn't
have the NRA or a similar organization.
