NRA says Obama out to "attack" 2A

Here's the NRA's statement after a meeting at the White House, which apparently was a big flop:

"The National Rifle Association of America is made up of over 4 million moms and dads, daughters and sons, who are involved in the national conversation about how to prevent a tragedy like Newtown from ever happening again. We attended today's White House meeting to discuss how to keep our children safe and were prepared to have a meaningful conversation about school safety, mental health issues, the marketing of violence to our kids and the collapse of federal prosecutions of violent criminals," reads the NRA statement.

"We were disappointed with how little this meeting had to do with keeping our children safe and how much it had to do with an agenda to attack the Second Amendment. While claiming that no policy proposals would be "prejudged," this Task Force spent most of its time on proposed restrictions on lawful firearms owners - honest, taxpaying, hardworking Americans. It is unfortunate that this Administration continues to insist on pushing failed solutions to our nation's most pressing problems. We will not allow law-abiding gun owners to be blamed for the acts of criminals and madmen. Instead, we will now take our commitment and meaningful contributions to members of congress of both parties who are interested in having an honest conversation about what works - and what does not."

Did anyone truly doubt his agenda??? We knew if he were elected for a 2nd term and didn't have to worry about re-election he would go straight for the jugular of the 2A. He did and he is. The tragedy of Sandy Hook only made it more convenient for him.

I am not surprised the NRA was invited to the meeting. I am not surprised it was just for show or amusement. Bama knew what he wanted to do before the Conn. thing happened and it is depressing that the media and public at large thinks and acts like this "task force" is anything but a dog and pony show.

We all knew this was coming eventually.

I suppose now we will hear how hard Biden and Holder worked on whatever they come up with, and how much hard thought these issues were given by the President.

They should sell tickets to this thing.

I think the administration is out to do more than "attack" the NRA. They would love to totally destroy the NRA, and if the gun bans go forward as planned, people may (wrongly) fault the NRA for not being able to stop it. I hope that is just my tinfoil hat speaking, but it seems that is where we are headed.

According to folks (I know quite a few people who are liberal) who are close ro Congressman Dingell, the intention is to give NRA a fatal blow so they can never threaten democrats, this is about power grab and if any republican is serious, they must defend 2A.
The liberals would dominate the political landscape for many years, I really hope the USA is split into 2, fed up with these liberals!!!

He showed us in his first term that he didn't care about the US constitution. He is treating the NRA just like he treats the Republican party. I actually think he is a poor negotiator but he is very clever politically.

My sister-in-law, a carry concealed permit holder in NYS, voted for him..TWICE!! Told her she confuses me...haven't talked to her since this garbage started...just don't understand how people can be manipulated like this. Of course with the lame stream media "driving the message home"...YOu tell a lie long enough people will start to believe it, but it's still a lie.

He is a master at this sort of thing. Look at the laughing buffoon he played in the debate with Ryan - to us he looked stupid, yet to many people, he "won" the debate.
Biden was one of the ringleaders of the Klinton gun ban and Brady bills years ago, and his agenda is as radical as the Prez's.

I had lunch right after New Years with guy who worked for me in the GM's finance arm back when I was a manger there before I retired. He and I shot at the range all of the time back then. He is now working for some higher ups on the beltway in a major think tank. When the conversation got around to gun control he was reluctant to talk about it. But he finally spilled the beans to me on a second or was it third whiskey because he said it was now common knowledge about what was going on in D.C. Here is what he told me:

"…The issue is not about guns but about control. It started in 2008 when the credit markets almost collapsed and the U.S. system came close to going belly up. This scared the big guys in government because they knew there where 280 million guns (now 300 million) in the country and they had not prepared well for civil control if the SHTF. What scared them the most is that the fire power of the average Joe was now equal to that of all of the authorities but the authorities were far outnumbered by the average Joe. To them this meant government might not survive a full collapse in the future because in the next chaos the average Joe would rule…"

He continued "…When Obama got into office and found out how bad things were he went nuts. The two things Obama did were to build Home Land Security (HLS) into a mass protection unit by sliding pork into bills he would sign. This is how they ended up with 1.6 billion hallow points and a long list of other goodies. Then Obama used terrorists as the reason for the 15 to 20 executive orders he sent out that make the U.S. into a prison camp for all of us in the next financial meltdown. The issue of gun control had to be left to the second term or he would not be reelected…"

Next he said "…Now we are at the third objective of Obama. That is to demobilize the firearms from the top in fire power on down. That is why he is trying to limit magazines or anything that has firepower. Part of this is a national registry so they can figure out how to allocate HLS resources against the districts with the most firepower…"

Then he finished "…You see this is all part of the big plan to keep running up the debt and the spending. Those guys want to save their butts if they spend too much and the credit markets destabilize again. So Obama can still spend a trillion to do his grand plan and if something goes wrong they are covered. In addition gun control fit into Obama's view of big government control. It's as simple as that…"

To understand gun control you need to understand the real rules about how our government functions by (which is not the constitution or its amendments). It 's not that hard to understand. Our government's first rule is "Do whatever it takes to keep government running (maintain power). Citizens come second (government rules people)…" The second rule is "Governments direction is that of the current ruling party unless rule number one is violated…" The third rule is "Do whatever it takes to continue to get the Citizens votes so rule number one and two stays in force…"

So what my friend told me is government is scared that if another crisis in finance threatens government stability there is too much fire power in civilian's hands and it must be stopped (so rule number one above is not violated). They don't care about Sandy Hook, it just happens to come along at the right time. If government really cared about children they would not have allowed 50 million abortions in the last 50 years.

We live in a nation of deceived people. They have been brainwashed for decades. What we are experiencing today is exactly what most reasonable folks expected back in 2007 the first time they ever heard the words "barak hussien obama, democrat, Illinois". After the past two astonishing elections the socialists are committed to gutting our Constitution, raiding the treasury, destroying common decency, and buying votes of the weak minded with the tax dollars of the very working people they are intent on enslaving. Attacks on the 2nd Amendment were off the table during obama's first term. That was part of the deception to get us though the election to where we are now. America now faces a lame duck socialist president who doesn't believe in any of the ideals that our nation was founded on. His opportunity to "change" the greatest nation on Earth (lighthouse to the world, at one time) is now truly here.

We must remain vigilant. We must contact our reps and vote. We must speak the truth to the deceived people we come into contact with in our daily lives. If you aren't an NRA member, join today!

Hopefully the extreme actions of the socialists will be their undoing in the next congressional election and obama will be politically hamstrung for his remaining two years. In the interim, this guy may well run us past the point of no return fiscally (we are probably already past it), and destroy much of the Constitution along the way. It is a sad state of affairs, but the deceived electorate voted for it.

BTW, seeing eric holder, father of "fast and furious" sitting beside biden yesterday was enough to make me sick at my stomach. Truly disgusting.
