NYC confiscation

Sounds like infringement to me .
People MUST stand up aginst this .
The law is null and void because it conflicts with the last four words of the second amendment .
It's time for men with backbones to do what they need to do ,in order to remain free .

It's very difficult to stand up for something in a place where that's exactly what the majority wants. NYC is NOT a gun friendly place even among its residents.

There are the ones who just hate the word or picture of a gun.

Then you have the ones that have been brainwashed by Politicians and adds.

Then you have the ones that just don't care one way or the other and don't even pay attention to what is happening until it affects them.

And then of course you have the criminals who are very happy about the anti gun laws.

So how does the minority stand up to an overwhelming majority?

"Gun laws" are made in the court of public opinion these days, not in a court room! These days the politicians blatantly disregard the fact that they took an oath to uphold the Constitution. We can all cite many examples of how many times the Constitution has been totally disregarded and tossed out the window with the new laws of the land - as long as the majority feels its right, no one can hold them accountable. PRIME EXAMPLE: NAZI GERMANY IN THE MID 1930's.

No need to get upset. If you don't like the laws in NYC or NY State, don't go there to live and try not to do business with those entities. Leave them to stew in their own broth.

I will say the same thing to you once your state turns more blue. Wait until your liberal politicians actually pass immigration reform and the illegals become citizens and vote democrat. We should then leave Texas to stew in their own broth. Works both ways my friend.

That's really easy to say if you don't live there or have family there. It's not usually so simple.

The Bill of Rights was written so that the changing opinions of the majority could not alter the rights of the people. And we as voters MUST hold the politicians accountable.

Well stated!

You are essentially endorsing ignoring violations of Citizen's Civil Rights and the Constitution. You either stand up for others rights wherever they are being violated or your rights might be the next ones taken.

This kind of stuff is why I will never register my guns, much less turn them in. I do not care what some "politician" says.

Spoken like a real and true American!

Anyone who thinks they're safe.....well, I have a desert to sell you in the middle of the Atlantic.

We currently have two who are planning to run so they can change Rick Perry's gun laws. One is wendy davis-the other is from South Texas vowing to undo what Perry did achieve. Sad they arent running on a useful platform.

At least, here in Colorado,we had a couple of months to stock up on hi-capacity mags before the our gun laws went into effect.Anything owned prior to the law's effective date was grandfathered in with no conditions made on their usage.

The gunowners in New York have to unite. You can't change the laws until you change the politicians. You can't change the politicians until you change the mindset of the people around you that want to take your rights away.

I always thought the people of New York were a tough bunch. At least that's what they'd like you to believe while laying on their backs taking everything that's thrown at them.I guess it's called the Nanny State for a reason.

NYC controls the politics in NY. I'm guessing you've never spent much, if any time in NY. If you removed the Cesspool City and Albany from the State, it would be a fairly Conservative, nice place to live. Upstate is gorgeous. I spent some time in Ellenville, I got to know some of the city officials there, they told me in last election, there were only 2 votes for the lib/gun grabbers out in the whole city.

The only places you hear or see anything about in NY is either Albany's politics or the city cesspool, it's a shame, much of it, other than those areas are nice places.

Colorado, while not as populated as New York, faces the same challenges. Most of the laws seem to be written based on the likes of the Denver and Boulder residents.Residents of rural Colorado have had enough and recently threatened secession from the State. While that might have been a hair-brained idea it might have woken a few people up along with the two recalls and one resignation of Democratic state senators.

My only visit to New York was a class trip back in 1969 when I was in school in Pennsylvania. The general consensus is that New Yorkers claim to be a tough bunch. Apparently none of them live in NYC where they have to constantly toe the line set by the Liberals in charge.I guess it's "all bark and no bite".

Which is why I have proposed that each of us make it our personal mission to get someone who had never fired a gun before out to the range.
Not to make then gun nuts but just to increase the overall awareness and reduce the FUD

My sister lives in NY. She is coming here to visit for Christmas, so i am planning on taking her to thee gun range, hopefully enlightening her a bit on her views. I'm betting she has a blast :) Shes a minister too, who knows she might even make it part of her discussion in church when she returns! lol.

Well said, and spot on, Sir.

As a past resident of New York State, I totally agree with these comments. I did not live in the NYC or Albany areas but they were, no doubt, the deciding factors in all the elections. Liberal voters in both areas have the numbers to sway the vote in their favor. Gun laws, with the latest one being the SAFE act, have been increasingly stringent over the years. I laughed when I read one provision of that act that requires previous owners of assault weapons to register them with police or sheriffs departments. Yeah, if I lived there I'd definitely do that, right. I moved from the state many years ago and now live in Utah. No constricting gun laws, easy to get a carry permit that's good in many other states and plenty of places to shoot.

The NYSP have refused numerous attempts to release the numbers of "assault" rifles being registered. They say FOIA doesn't pertain to that info. It's common belief that upwards of 1 million of those rifles are in NY homes, and I'm guessing a very small percentage will be registered.
