Obnoxious advertisements

How about the idiot that jumps around and acts like a cheerleader for a cholesterol drug. I wonder about the intelligence of the people who write these commercials. And the girl who dribbles about the speech recognition program for your computer. This ad must last 5 minutes. The producers should have at least made her fix her greasy looking hair before shooting the ad.

Mute and pause buttons are the most used buttons on our remote. Both the wife and I either pause or mute them usually pause and take a few min to do whatever usually at the start of the show we want to watch. Then we can skip over the commercials for most of the show before having to pause again which usually works well for bathroom and rebeer breaks.
However YES most if not all the ad's make you go HUH?

Many times I'll DVR a program and watch it later but fast forward through all the commercials. I would say that 80% of what I watch is on Premium channels or Netflix and there are no commercials. :)

I'm like Texas40, there is a thing called the MUTE button, I learned to use it the day God invented the remote control.
But I do like watching the DirecTv commercials...

If I see a commercial that's annoying or insults what's left of my intelligence, I don't buy that product, ever.

The stupid Cialis ads. You would think nobody in America can get it up any more.

I don't know if this is still happening - Our kids are grown and gone -

When they were playing they'd be paying NO ATTENTION WHAT-SO-EVER to the TV until a commercial came on and they'd all stop and stare at the TV
SOMETHING was going on with the commercials - But what?

This was especially noticeable during cartoons - but a lot of other programs too.

Don't watch very many. Dvr everything and ff through commercials on everything but ball games and news.

Your subject is an Oxymoron...........................

All Advertisements are Obnoxious....................

However, I agree with you that lately, the past few years, they just keep getting more ridiculous.

When any ad comes on the TV I either mute it or change channels.............

If I mute it - sometimes I have no idea what product they are trying to sell.

Also, I have noticed over the past year that a commercial break on TV now runs at least FIVE MINUTES............
I can't believe the FCC has authorized this!

Here's another one that really frosts me:
On TVLand they play the shows I like. Andy Griffith being my favorite. Every night they show several in a row. They are 36 minutes long, not the usual 30.
This is so they can show more commercials.
Good thing I hardly ever watch TV.
Jim

In ancient times (pre-remote) they sorta had you captive unless,

You sent your SIGNIFICANT OTHER to CHANGE THE CHANNEL.:D

We use the mute button but there are still some we can't stand to even see. Those include, but are not limited to:

1) Flo
2) State Farm (BTW, they have never given me any money)
3) Some drug ad where a guy is sitting at the kitchen tabel with his wife telling her about his drug, then turns away and talks to no one, not even the camera. It must be a side effect, talking to invisible people.
4) Every sleezy lawyer here in Denver that all look like they're abnomal.
