the problem arose after only one simple modification which slipped my mind when the pistol began to malfunction. it is working very well now, thankyou very much.

it is not a mistake to make a modification to a pistol. it would be a wonderful thing if others could learn from my effort, which yielded an undesirable result.

i will drop a note to Wolff that several members have had unsatisfactory results with their 3-1/2 pound striker spring.

Striker Springs - Reduced Power
W. C. Wolff Company offers reduced power striker springs (firing pin springs) for Sigma pistols rated at 3.5 pounds. The factory spring is 4.75 pounds. This spring will help reduce trigger pull.

regardless of their warning, which gmc~ has so conveniently provided to us, it is still an unsatisfactory replacement for the factory spring. 90 percent reliability is unsatisfactory performance for recreational target shooting and for competitions which do not permit alibis.

I think they spelled it out pretty well. Decreasing the striker spring rate by almost 27% is not insignificant. When you deviate from the mfrs. design, you takes your chances.
