I may be thick, and im completely new to ammo but why is .17 cents a deal when ammo on gunbroker.com can readily be found for less (best I've found was .10cents for a 555rd box winchester 22lr.). I go straight to the buynow section as people on the auctions are over bidding for the same ammo that's can be found in the buynow section for less! I have to be missing something and Im hoping you can fill me in.

These days you pretty much depends on how bad you need it. Look how fast it sold out. I've talked to people here in TX, up in PA, NY, NY, OH and Indiana lately and there just isn't any really anywhere so everyone is scooping it up. For instance on a ealier post someone saw Winchester 555 boxes at a gun show selling for $100 and that's .18 cents a round. If your going to spend a little more on rounds, CCI is the way to go.

Cheapest thing I see on there now is $45 for 235 box of Winchester and that's .19 a round. Just depends on the person selling it, if they want to just make money or help out other shooters. I had a guy today that I saw at Walmart who just wanted to take his kid out to shoot so I let him have one I picked up for cost. But then again im not out to double the price of ammo that I have to make a profit like a lot of the people scooping it up.

Word of advice go through this thread and make an account for every site posted! This way you're ready when the deals come around....

There is already a tool out there that helps finds bargain deals from a small set of suppliers. It's called gunbot, not to be confused with the game of the same name. It's currently in Beta, but seems to really work.

Here is the problem with all these shared ideas though. They get mobbed by hundreds of thousands of avid lookers who will jump on any deal that comes along, so by the time you find out about it, the stuff is out of stock again.
Incidently, I have a brand new box of CCI Maxi-Mag ammo that I got today, which I would sell or swap for three boxes of 22 LR rounds, but not Remington and preferably not Winchester.

Check your wally worlds tonight and tomorrow morning folks.... Just spoke to 2 stores local to me and they are both stocking 555 round bulk Winchester tomorrow AM and/or tonight.
I just bought 2555 rounds of Winchester from my local WM store fresh off the truck. 2 of the 1000 round boxes of Winchester M22 and 1 of the 555 bulks.
I will leave the other store near my work for someone else tomorrow morning.

Am I missing something? These don't say they are "MiniMag" they are standard velocity 22LR. These are the same ones I bought 5000rnds. last month from SAmmo for $300. thanks to this site
