there are who knows how many people trying to checkout when you are.

when someone puts something in their cart it puts a hold on that item in inventory.

people are constantly changing, deleting or otherwise changing their carts which puts the inventory in a constant state of flux.

i put 5 boxes in my cart, then click "proceed to checkout"

i either A:go to the next step

or B: get the "some items are not available" message and get put back to the cart. i simply refresh the cart until its "available" again and repeat the process until i manage to get to the final "process order"

at that point you will likely get the little popup saying it cant be processed and to try later or contact palmetto. click ok and hit the process order button again. rinse and repeat until the order goes through.

NOTE this is my second time doing this and it worked last time when they got all that CCI in a couple of weeks ago. i do not guarantee this will work for you.

I tried that last week and did the "rinse and repeat" about 100 times (no kidding!). Eventually it kicked me back to the cart and said OOS. All I did was hit the "place order" button every time it tried and came back and said the order didn't get placed. Did I need to go back to the cart (rinse more)?

That was a royal PITA but i finally got through with 2 boxes amazingly. Just kept banging the button after it said there was an error, and to contact customer service, and kept resubmitting.

It finally showed an order approval, order number, and the charge already hit my card.

Hope somebody else had luck!

I gave up after 4 times. Should have kept trying.

I was at Walmart this evening at 7PM, and they were putting out ammo. No 22lr unfortunately, but they had hundred packs of .223 and 45 ACP. I got my 3 boxes, as did the guy in front of me (both of the 9MM they got in). There were about 10 boxes of each left after that. If anybody is by the Woodruff Rd Walmart in Greenville and needs some of that, there might still be some...

nope. I actually was within a couple seconds of getting the message. I think the messages are going out late anyways. What's the point of in stock txt alerts if they alert after it's already OOS? Not trying to whine, just need to know if I need to not rely on midways text messages. Emails actually come later for me.. which is almost too funny.

I agree... The emails are probably worthless.

I don't know what the glitch is but I have yet to get ANY of the notifications from midway. I even called and checked my email address, I get the "specials" emails but no stock emails. Anyone else have this problem?

Hmm maybe my connection just sucks or my timing does because that's what i do every time and still never get it. I always can get to the confirm order page and then I always get the popup error call or try again later. I've even tried it on different browsers. Guess I'm not meant to get ammo at normal pricing.

imo, if you're relying on midway emails, you're already at a disadvantage. The sms text messaging usually comes faster yet it's already OOS for me even then. (I signed up for both and use gmail) I tested sending myself a message both ways and it was instant. I was on a page when I got the message and it was already OOS. Dunno. Just a theory. lol

for the ones not getting emails, check your junk folder?

Please keep this thread for what it was set up for.

I'm fairly new, and I truly don't want to come over as some kind of thread nazi who thinks I have the right to tell others what they can and can't discuss here. I don't. I also acknowledge that this very post is also off-purpose. But the moderator has repeatedly told everyone to limit the posts here strictly to LINKS TO AMMO. Not discussions about which sites work better, expressions of frustration, complaints about how fast ammo sells, etc. The moderator has repeatedly listed threads for all these kinds of posts. The moderator has already locked this thread down once because of posts not being links. And the OP to this thread was a sticky that made it incredibly clear that the purpose here is only to list ammo links. Yet I just counted, and including this one, the last 21(TWENTY ONE!) posts don't contain a single ammo link....the stated purpose of this thread. I conceed that those links are very hard to come by and sometimes we just want to talk, but that doesn't follow the stated purpose of this thread, nor does it make this the go-to place for whatever .22 ammo might be out there-however rare and expensive it may be.
I know this post will upset some of you and I'm sorry. I know how badly we all long to express our fellings, frustrations, and questions. Its human nature to want to communicate with like minded people on a topic we feel strongly about and are engaged in on a daily basis. But the moderator has listed multiple places to do that and asked you not to do it here. Please try to follow the stated purpose and subsequent warnings on this thread. Sorry for those I've just upset, but please keep this on track.
