I waited a long time to get My hands on some of these in the Federal or CCI flavor.

I had a chance shot 40 of these in the Federal version, but could not find them anywhere. And yes at 970fps the cycled in all my Semi-Auto. I shot about 40 of these, 20 thru my 15-22, 15 thru my 22/45 Lite and 5 thru my CZ455 just see how it liked them. I was thinking they where done producing them.

Very consistent and accurate. Got myself a brick of them very happy now.

Ammo link so no ban - $0.09 per... Also by the case...

Armscor Prec. 22 Long Rifle 36 grn HP 500 rd/brick from the 22 RIMFIRE Category

these are subsonic. I read here http://smith-wessonforum.com/smith-...-what-ammo-doesnt-work-well-mp-15-22-a-3.html that the subsonic isn't powerful enough to cycle in the mp15-22. Anyone ?

There are some subsonic ammo that work in a semi-auto - mostly the 'standard velocity' or slightly lower velocity. The CCI Quiets, which run at ~750 fps generally do NOT generate enough blow back pressure to cycle the bolt.

Adding a suppressor to subsonic ammunition increases the back pressure. The AE 45gr bullets https://www.outdoorlimited.com/Fede...LR-Subsonic-Suppressor-45-p/ae22sup1brick.htm are designed for suppressor use because
a) they are subsonic
2) they are fully plated meaning there is less lead fouling than with normal 22 (even plated) rounds.

They cycle because they are 45 grain. From physics (conservation of momentum)

M1 x V1=M2 x V2

Or mass 1 times velocity 1 equals mass 2 times velocity 2.

Slower heavier bullets come closers mathmatically to fast light bullets in momentum. Subsonic light bullets don't have enough opposite momentum to push the bolt back, on some guns.

I assume that would also work in a .22 pistol such as a Ruger SR22?

22WMR, also called .22 Mag, will not fit in an SR22 (nor Ruger Mark series nor Buck Mark). 22LR will fit in those pistols.

CCI Maxi-Mags are 22WMR. CCI Mini-Mags are 22LR, so they will work very well in the SR22.
