OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

I was there a little after 7:30. I heard Wal-Mart has been getting the 525 round boxes of Remington 22 with the 225 sometimes now, so we might have missed out big. However, it still showed Federal 50 round boxes of 22 in stock after I left. I am almost certain they keep selling that by the brick so somebody is getting $21 ammo for $2.10 or whatever it is. Having the wrong people stock ammo at night means those losses happen.

Edit: Since this was specific to our Wal-Mart, to tie it in to the App and website: It does work. The catch is figuring out how your Wal-Mart works and letting the right people know that these mistakes are happening. Seems like the only way they'll listen. They could care less if all the ammo is going to an employee's buddy at 1AM.

come to find out I thought my BIL was meeting me at 7am at WM this morning to buy ammo and then go to breakfast, he misunderstood me and he was there at 6:30am and got the last 3 boxes of rem 225ct before me the butthead, I gave him hell tonight LOL
he needed 22lr more than me so it was cool

Lots of 40 and 9mm showing up in my area tonight.

Going in to see what else might be showing up with it.

I just don't understand why anybody would pay more than $2.50 for a 50pk of 22LR, this is getting out of hand, I will not pay 3 or 4 times what it is worth.
My 40 year old Marlin 22LR with the scope on it will hit the same bulleseye (close) with the (cheap) ammo as those that pay $20 for a 50 pack.
$150 for a brick on the auction site is stupid
my rant for the first time :)
I buy ammo for my buddies and I to SHOOT on the weekends.
I do not get up at 6am and go to WM to try and get some just to sell and make a large profit.

Been lurking here for a while, but I'm pissed too. Same thing happened Sunday. Nothing the day before, nothing in the morning, then suddenly 22LR, and some others pop up in several stores. Haul *** to the nearest one, guy says they don't have any. I ask him to scan the shelves and it returns a hit - 40 boxes! Turns out they are unloading a truck right now. Cool! Another associate comes over and quietly says 'I got six boxes of 5.56 in my locker - don't tell anyone.' Effing pissed, but right now I just want to pick up some different caliber stuff. They keep checking, going back to the truck, a few more people show up, they say they can't find it - probably towards the front of the trailer. An hour goes by and someone checks the manifest and says there's no 22LR on the manifest. Manager says the same, but they can't explain why it's showing up on the app AND on their scan of the barcodes. Won't let us see the manifest either.
Didn't have time this morning, but will do it tomorrow and I suggest others do the same. Call WalMart customer service and demand to talk to the Loss Prevention division. There's video camera's everywhere in WalMart - if it was on the truck, the truck made it to the store, but they don't see anything going to the shelves, well, I'm sure the ATF would like to know where all of that ammo is disappearing too since apparently a multi-billion dollar company can't keep their shipping logistics straight.

Thought I would post an update:

Finally had a chance to talk to someone at corporate. They did take my info, understood what I was saying, and they said someone would get back to me (at my request). I told her I can't imagine a billion dollar company can lose 40 boxes of 22LR, but I'm sure the ATF would be interested to find out how they do that.

So the local store manager called me the next morning. Basically he's going to look into it, understands the frustration, and make sure the store inventory numbers are updated. He couldn't explain other than the warehouse has made mistakes before, saying they shipped items when they didn't. I said losing 40 boxes of ammo is not like losing one or two general products. Basically the brush off. One complaint to corporate - just a PITA customer. Multiple complaints from around the country - then you have a trend.

There's nothing to say the manager wasn't in on it or is completely blind to it. Probably thinks I'm a gun nut-job, but I was generally polite about it. I just kept pressing how is it not in their inventory one hour, there the next, scanned in-store as available, but nowhere to be found. Again, the more people call the more of a trend it becomes. Just need to be a PITA like we're doing with Congress - keep calling and bugging them. I refuse to pay the nutty prices, so to me this is worth the fight.

Got to learn how to play the game...

got .223 38sp and 380acp tonight.

Yep. If you go right after it's "In Stock" you will almost definitely not get any. Some stores will stock it a few hours after it goes "In Stock" but most stock it the next morning. Definitely not a waste of time, just a pain to figure out which stores do what. Even then, different employees will do it differently throughout the week.

Yep I have been doing this for two months and just figured out night before last that there is one employee at my local store that puts it on the shelf early and I suspect he is doing it to help his friends get ammo. I dont think he is even supposed to because the stocking is always left for the night shift.

Not that I really care but now I have to factor that in every time something comes in stock that I really need.

I got lucky this morning, the wife and I went to Walmart to get a few things and walked by the ammo counter, and behold 9mm 100 count boxes of Federal ammo we got 600 rounds. She got 300 and I got 300. Hardly got away from the counter before I was approached by a man wanting to buy it from me.

I understand the three box limit I really do. And that is why my wife bought three boxes and I bought three boxes. But what I don't understand is why he wouldn't let me use my credit card twice, it is a joint card my wife and I share. It annoyed me but really pissed my wife off.

What difference does it make where the money comes from if 2 separate people actually swipe the card.

I been through that too and I always make sure whoever is with be buying has the cash to make the transaction themselves.

One of the first nights I did this one of the employees checking me out said they couldn't have it on the video surveillance showing me buying all 6 boxes.

I guess Cover Your Own *** is a constant. I see the employees concern now. I wasn't trying to be greedy but I check often and its never their so when I saw it I wanted to get as much as I could who knows when I will see it again.

I bought the same thing this morning as well. Got 3 boxes.

I beginning to think that stock is only showing up in certain parts in the country. I've been checking my local WM for months now and I've yet to see much of anything stocked. When I asked them to look up the Federal 9mm 100rnd boxes. He did and said that it shows that it's not in stock. I asked him when thay get their shipments in and when they stock the shelves. He just said 'all the time'. then he continued and said, "if you'd read the news, you'd know that the government is restricting how much stores can stock and that when they do get a case of ammo, it's just a few boxes and when it gets put out it goes in a matter of minutes". I got fed up with the BS and left.

A clerk from Walmart told me the same thing the Federal Gov't is restricting the sell of ammo. I think this might be a backdoor way to have gun control you can have all guns you want if you can't get ammo for them they are worthless.

I don't buy it. All one has to do is look on sites like Gun Broker and you'll find all the ammo you want, any caliber all at over inflated, price gouging prices. These(for the most part) are not stores but rather individuals who sit online and buy from the manufactures or warehouses. I recently got 500 rnds of 9mm and because the person lived close, we agreed to meet so I could save on shipping. Now you'd think that 500 rnds would be alot, but I've noticed that he's consistantly selling 500 & 1k rnd deals. Almost daily! So it's out there. I also know that Federal has a plant in a northern suburb and they've been running overtime shifts for months to keep up with demand. I know the stories that the government has been buying it up and storing it. Well if you look at past years, the gov't hasn't really been getting that much more than the've gotten in previous years.

This gun store's ammo is not restricted. I took these first two pictures this week and the last one last month.

I was at Wal-mart tonight and the app actually showed 9mm in stock. The employee went in the back and then said it was there, but his manager wouldn't let him bring it out.

I just went after seeing 556 in stock. Got there and found 556 380 and a lot of 9mm. Only had 60 bucks in cash so I took 3 boxes of 556. Wish I had my card cause I can never have enough 9mm with the way I shoot.

Was that the winchester 556? A few boxes of that showed up in my area last week and I got some.
