OFFICIAL Using Wal-Mart App/Website

My Walmart on they way to work showed the 1000 round m-22 boxes in limited stock on Friday so I stopped at the lady said we haven't seen any she said try back tomorrow it might be on the truck they are unloading today. So I call on Saturday nope it still isn't here. So I go this morning to get the wife an Easter basket at around 6:30 and just do a walk by and low and behold there are 2 boxes of the 1000 count m-22 just laying on the counter. After about 10 min I rechecked the app and it now shows out of stock. Both times I have actually been able to find the m-22 I've been at the store before 7am and its just laying on the floor or on the counter I've never had any issues buying ammo before 7am it may just be the local walmarts don't care about only certain times they can sell ammo

I was checking ammo stock for my local Wally World this morning online and lo and behold they showed some common calibers in stock including .22lr. Was able to get 2 boxes of 333 each Winchester jhp for around $15.50 a box including tax. Not too bad considering what the gougers are trying to sell this stuff for. They also had some 9mm, .223, 7.62x39 and quite a bit of .40 S&W in 50 and 100 round boxes. I also saw some .38 special and .357 mag in 50 and 100 round boxes. From what I've seen over the last few weeks, things might be starting to loosen up and at least Wal-mart has not raised their prices much.
Happy Easter to all!

Using the app I scored my 3-box limit of Remington 225-ct boxes at two local wal-marts this morning for a total of 1,350 rounds. Both were showing in-stock last night, one wouldn't pull ammo from the back to sell and the other I won't go to at night, but was able to buy after 7 AM today. The guy at the first said its the first 22 he's seen in a long time, and its the first I've seen it in stock there since I started looking at WM for ammo about a month ago.

Just got back from Wally World. I did my normal quick check of the ammo cabinet in hopes of some 9mm. showed out of stock on app. low and behold, they had one box of 9mm on the shelf. It was Remington. I grabbed it and the clerk asked if I wanted any of the Remington 225 count .22. He had four boxes. Instead of buying ammo I didn't need, I left it for the next person. The clerk looked at me like I was crazy. Lol. Also, the app is only good for federal 9mm. No other 9mm Wally World sells shows up.

I checked the Walmart app last night and it showed my local store had Federal 9mm 100rd in stock. I got there at about 7:30am Easter Sunday and they had 9mm....380....223.....45 So I grabbed my 3 box limit of the 9mm. I was the only one in the store looking for ammo. I had to go find someone to open the showcase to get me the ammo. I figured I'd stop by tomorrow morning on the way to work and get another 300rds, but I just checked the app and it shows "out of stock". Oh well......I'll have to wait till next week. I by ammo for the range, not to resell.

I would have gladly paid you to ship me the 22! Hopefully my Walmart takes care of the employee problem

Employees at my local store are buying the ammunition and selling it on the side.

Same thing is happening in my area too. It winds up at the local flea market for 3 - 4 times normal price.
I called and complained to my local Wal Mart, talked to a manager, didnt do any good.

Proof of dirty employee

We all know its happening, we know some employees are hiding ammo and selling it to friends and/or buying it themselves when they go on break. But of course up till now, its just mostly been suspician and speculation. But I can now tell you with 100% certainty that a sporting good clerk at a store in south central KY was doing it with .22s and got caught! :) The sporting good manager admits that it happened, and I know someone who works in another department who told me about it says all the employees are talking about it. They fired him!!!!!!!!!! So while I've been frustrated with walmart's handling of the shortage, I must give them credit for taking this serious enough to fire the guy.
As it turned out, the group in line one morning waiting for the 7 pm ammo to be brought out knew that the app and site showed "limited" m-22, which usually means 2 of the 1000 round packs. But when the guy brought ammo out, guess what? It wasn't there. While we all know the app/site isn't 100%, those there that morning apparently felt it was and they just went crazy and went and got the store manager. The store manager comes back and goes through the actual list showing what was unloaded into the store durring the night, and there it was....2 of the m-22 1000 packs. SO the store manager himself goes back and starts looking. Well, guess what? He finds it....and guess where? OK, picture a wooden pallen. You know how there are slats on the bottom, then a 8-10 space where a fork lift can put the forks in, then slats across the top? WEll, the ammo was INSIDE the pallet---in that area where the forks go. Apparently the crooket clerk had hidden it there so he'd have a chance if he got caught.....because as soon as the manager found it and ask the clerk about it he said "I turned the cart over when i was loading it and several boxes fell and that one muse have fallen in there". Fortunately the manager was smart enough to realize something as heavy as 2,000 rounds of ammo couldn't just fall INSIDE a pallet. Op top or behind maybe, but this ammo was in the hollow part of the pallet and apparently pretty far in there. Whatever the case, it was obvious enough to the store manager that he felt confident enough to fire the guy. He took the ammo to the waiting crowd and appologized and told them he was going to have to figure out what happened (he didn't tell them he was firing the guy) but in reality he took the guy directly to his office to do paperwork to terminate him. GOOD FOR THAT MANAGER! My understanding is that the same employee had already been undersuspician for this before and had been told to make sure it didn't happen. I cant prove that part or that he had done it before, but the rest of the story is a well known fact that I was told by both a co-worker and the sporting goods manager on the evening shift. So no more just suspecting employees are doing this....it happened for a 100% fact at my store.

Since I am a wholesaler,I buy my ammo from Hornady and load my own up in .38,357,and,.45. Hornady has been price cautious all the time since the fumbolt peoples in D.C. staarted out with this ridiculious gun control rant. WalMart, well this is the way they are told by corporate to do. or else, they aren't working for wally world no more.

Personally, not something I would brag about.

Didn't post this to brag, just to show that the app does work. I will admit, I was happy to finally find some so that I could target practice with my new 22 pistol in hopes of getting my concealed carry permit soon.

I looked up "fumbolt" and came up empty. But I do like the word.:D

Thank you everyone for the info. I noticed yesterday around 4-5pm that several local Walmarts showed stock. I hit 3 of them this morning between 7-8am and got 2000rds of Federal Lightening 22LR and 500rds of assorted 9mm. I can now take a break from scouring the internet!

One Walmart was limiting 22 ammo to one box per person.

my local walmart sucks. I have quite a bit of walmarts in my city but they all seem pretty far. But today I decided to try and hit some of them up and the first one I went to beside the one on my side of town said that if you ask the associate/a manager to scan the barcode, they can tell you when they will expect a shipment. The next one said they receive their shipments Mon and Sat. The last one I visited said they recieve ammo everyday just they didn't last night. Meanwhile the one on my side of town cannot give me any answers. It just pisses me off. So at walmart today I did not score any ammo, but at academy I scored 5 boxes of 9mm (I went with a friend and we came back again later with another friend and bought a second box since it's one box per day).

I live not far from Madison, WI. I search a 100 mile radius several times a day and have not seen any .22, .223 or 9mm in any Walmart. That includes Rockford, IL, Milwaukee, WI, Green Bay, WI, Minneapolis, MN, Wausau, WI....

for the last 2 days the Wal-Mart website shows ammo, but says "no store info available". may be their way of decreasing phone calls, limiting amounts, etc. could be my crappy internet provider too. Wal-Mart is definitely a love/HATE relationship around here!

Called the walmart store 30 miles from me early this morning when they showed Win 555 packs instock and was told no 22lr on hand, they didn't get it. called my step son who works in that town and he was on the way to work at the post office so he stopped by there at 7am and they had 6 win 555 boxes on the shelf. he asked why they had told me non in stock and they had no answer to that so he reported it to the manager who he knows.

Jeff M. what store was this?
The West Burlington one sold them all on Monday and I think Mt.Pleasant sold everything they had midnight that monday morning, because it showed instock that Easter afternoon and when out of stock by 10pm.

Keokuk also sold I think at least 3 of the Winchester 555's by 9am Monday. Other stores in SE Iowa I didn't see in stock listed for them on Sunday/Monday. Didn't check since then.

Ammo showed up a my local WM last night and the only thing that you could see in stock on the app was 223...

Had lots of 9mm and 22lr from what the guy in sporting goods told me and they sold it all in a couple hours.

I think the days of checking stock with the app and online are about over.

They have guns in the case that do not show up in stock either.

My bad, not much sleep and got the day wrong, it was yesterday morning and I believe washington and ottumwa showed them also that day. I've been to the wm in mt p several mornings at 7am and all I got was .223 or 9mm. I haven't found any 22 since I got a deal on 3 bricks on the net since Feb 6th, I am not paying $60+ for something that should be $30 at the most

also wonder why the Tula MaxxBrass doesn't show up on the wm app?
