Ohio State vs Florida State?

It may happen but MSU could knock off OSU and Missouri could knock off Auburn. Then we're probably back to Bama and FSU. I hope not but Bama went to the Championship game and beat LSU in a similar situation.

Regardless of the sports betting dot-com chosen, OSU is a 5.5 point favorite across the board.

MSU will be life support by half time Saturday! Ohio State will then get their bell rung by someone in big boy pants.

It'll be another Overrated State double digit loss in a major bowl.

No offense Bluejax, but I've got call'em the way I see them.

I should add, I think Urban Meyer will turn them into a powerhouse, but needs a couple more years to get it done. Even then, they still will be at a disadvantage because of the weak conference they are in, but they will have the talent to compete with anyone.

Seems like everyone loves to forget about the '98, '02, '03, '05, '09, and '10 seasons where the Buckeyes finished with a BCS Bowl win (and that little thing called a National Title in '02) and wants to only remember the '06 **** of a performance and the '07 title game they shouldn't have been in to begin with. That '07 season ended with the Buckeyes ranked 4th in the BCS after the Michigan game then everyone else proceeded to lose over the next 2 weeks and the Buckeyes backdoored their way in. Heck, the '08 season ended with a 24-21 loss to UT in a BCS game when Colt McCoy completed a pass in the final minute with UT down 21-17. Not exactly a blow out. So 6-3 in the BCS bowls for those who forgot about all but 3 years of recent history.

Anyways, with regards to this season. If OSU beats MSU this Sat, they deserve as much as anyone to be in the title game. First rule of college football is to win all of your regular season games if you want a shot at the national title. Sorry Auburn, Alabama, Mizzou, toOSU, etc... Win 1 more regular season game and tOSU is on the outside looking in. But you didn't do that. And yes, we still might not do it either. With regards to FSU, with the way they're playing, ya'll are fooling yourself if you think anyone is gonna slow down Jameis (other than the DA of course). At least tOSU has an explosive offense that at least has a chance in a shootout. If anything, toOSU is probably second best in that regard. The SEC 3 certainly don't have the offense to keep up with FSU.

Somebody please tell me what football powerhouses Ohio State has beaten this year? If Ohio State was in the SEC they get to play some. Bama, Auburn, Texas A&M, Mizzou, LSU, Georgia, South Carolina, heck even Florida. Does anyone out there really think the Buckeyes would be undefeated if they had to play some of them teams

But they didn't ... and they are.

Scoreboard.

Therein lies why no one respects OSU, they play a weak schedule in a weak conference, year in, year out. You never know what you are getting with them and for the last while, it's been less than advertised.

We'll see what happens this year.

Funny thing about The Ohio State University. Year in and year out, SI ranks them as both the most followed and most hated program in college football.

A few years ago I was in Cancun Mexico in late June. After a few pops in a crowded bar, I stood on my chair and yelled "O-H". Not surprisingly, in a foreign country in the middle of summer, I was rewarded with three or four patrons screaming "I-O" in response.

What all of you are forgetting is that Ohio State, after years of being the SEC's B**** in the various BCS championship games tried to join the SEC. That failed so they did the next best thing- they hired a proven SEC coach. They are now playing SEC type football and, as can be seen by their record in the big ten, it really works and is far superior to the big ten method of playing ball. The only problem is that they have not yet been able to test it out on an SEC team.
Florida State has a coach that was originally the highly successful offensive coordinator at LSU. Florida state, using LSU football philosophy and coching methods, has totally dominated the ACC which indicates that the LSU way of playing ball is far superior to any other way. Another example of the superiority of the LSU way is Nick Saban-look what he did to with that miserable program over in Alabama. So basically you are looking at two SEC coaching influenced teams as 1 & 2 currently in the BCS, one of which has a strong LSU influence. Accordingly it would seem to me that the superiority of the LSU influence will win out and Florida St. will win if they play Ohio St. Of course they will loose if they play Auburn or Alabama because well, the SEC is the SEC (see the analysis of the Ohio St. situation above).

Lets see, Urban Meyer, Les Miles, and Nick Saban are all northern guys who cut their teeth in the Big Ten. They took the Big Ten coaching philosophy south and with the the looser academic requirements and free wheeling recruiting methods of the dirty south found success. Surprise, surprise, surprise. Try not over-signing for a few years and quit writing $180,000 checks to players' father's churches and see what happens! Oh yeah, get out of bed business wise with ESPN and see if those talking heads keep fluffing your conference so much.

Still upset over the defeats from Florida and LSU I see :D
Oh-and there is a reason why ESPN choose the SEC over the Big 10 - better footbal.
Plus with the money we get from the new TV contract we can pay more for the good players ;)
