Who has the best price on the M&P 15 sport? What is the real world price for one of these things. I think the msrp is 709. or close to it. I saw it at Gander Mountain for 749. Heck they are high on everything.
Anyway where is the best place to get one and what should I really pay?

thanks for the help

Where are you located? That will have a real effect on prices, and availability. If we know where to look for you, we will do a much better job locating you a good price.

Not to mention; many here on the site are FFL, or work at a gun shop and can help you out right in your own neighborhood.;)

Last Aug. I paid $619.00 + tax at my LGS. That was a great price in the Seattle area at the time. The MSRP has went up since then, don't know what they are going for today.

Cheapest I've seen is $600. $699 @ the other always overpriced LGS. People are buying them faster than they can keep them even @ $699. Crazy smart those S&W marketers.......

$615.00 + tax from a LGS. I shopped around with the pricing, some other shops were considerably higher than I paid.

I paid $610 for mine, back in December. The biggest problem is finding one. When I went my rifle was the last one they had, they sold 4 earlier. The day before they sold 5.

$614.99 OTD from Cabela's after creatively applying a promotion twice according to the rules and Cabela's bonus points redemption.

The model I picked up had the older chopped, traditional A2 rear sight, not the Magpul sight. I actually prefer the old style chopped A2 rear sight over the Magpul.

I know the newer production ones with the Magpul rear sight increased in price.

I paid $610 for mine, back in December. The biggest problem is finding one. When I went my rifle was the last one they had, they sold 4 earlier. The day before they sold 5.

I got lucky. I purchased mine during a 0% for 12 mos S&W specific firearm promotion and coupon promo period. When the salesman said he had one in stock, I took it.

My LGS can't keep them in stock. As soon as they get them in, they sell out.

S&W hit a sweet spot in the AR market with the 15-Sport.

Added.

No fees or taxes besides your FFL

in order to get bottom dollar prices. You must send a money order.
I overnighted it. My weapon shipped next day. There inventory changes every month. Currently have the MOE M&P for 990$

If you call ask for Jamie.

Here's he process.
Call and make sure it's in stock.
Speak with Jamie, tell her you want that firearm and your sending a moneyorder.
She will assign you a sales number and put it on your weapon.
Send them a moneyorder.
Fax her the FFL it's shipping too.
Call back and verify FFL received etc..
With in an hour of her receiving my moneyorder, my weapon shipped and UPS tracker was emailed. I will NEVER buy a new gun in town again. This is my new one stop shop.

I changed my sig to include location. I'm in Souderton, Pa.

I have been checking on line. The best price I can find would be about 660. including all fees. (out the door) Of course they are out of stock. Pretty high price for out of stock. I would sell them for 300 bucks if I didn't have them. LOL

I can't even find a lower. Been thinkin about building one using the Plum Crazy lower but not sure about that.

I can't get to my LGS for a few days so don't know what the story is there.

They have em for $638 at the S&W retail store. $599 at a LGS in my area (Eastern/Central Massachusetts) if you pay cash. $609 w/ credit card.

Thats a great price. I really don't think you can do much better.

I was also thinking about a build, really don't know to much about it. Has anyone heard of Del-Ton and if so how is their quality?

Two shops in E. Mass have them for $599 and $595.

Not to hijack but anyone know of anywhere in Central WASHINGTON that has any?

Probably going to start looking for one in the next few days, but from the looks of all Internet dealers are sold out.

Thanks

Uh, don't do that. Leave the plastic lowers for .22 AR's. There are some which have been good, some decent, and some crack. Many have cracked.
When it comes to a lower, you should be paying between $50 and 100. Really depends on the shops around you, and if you can buy without a waiting period, or from other states direct. I am here in Ca; we can't buy from a dealer in say Arizona. But, a Colorado resident can buy a rifle in Az and take it home with him.
What I am trying to say is; with the FFL transfer fees and shipping, you may be better off to buy a lower for $90 in your town rather than buy one for $60 and then pay shipping and transfer fees.
My son just built his first rifle; A RifleGear lower, Bushmaster trigger kit, standard buffer tube with a Magpul stock. The upper is a freefloated 16"SS bull barrel, with a muzzle break. Total cost is like $700, for a rifle that would have otherwise run $1K with the barrel and free float assembly.
A bit of patient shopping was all it took.

I have a friend in GA who built his wife one in 223 for coyote hunting using a Plum Crazy lower and she absolutely loves it and they claim it is very dependable. It like mine has a scope mounted on it and is a good deal, I dont know what upper they put on it but I believe he assembled the upper also.

Thanks guys

I am lookin for lowers and found a few but not sure which one yet. Smith makes a stripped lower. I think the smith lower stripped is about 130. I am just outside Daytona now and there is a shop that manufactures lowers for about 110 with the trigger guard. Life time warranty.

Has anyone built on using a Del-Ton upper? Even with a Smith stripped lower with the Del-Ton upper the entire build would be under 600 bucks. Haven't heard much about Del-Ton but I understand from what little i have found they are pretty good

AR-15 Lower Receiver Stripped

Scroll down about 1/3ed down to the rifle kit.

AR-15 Lower Receiver Stripped

I am wet behind the ears so what do you guys think?

Thumbs, the DelTon stuff has been pretty good. Like DPMS, they were truly dealing with budget AR's for some years, but the market demands pushed them both to improve their products considerably. If it was a good price, then I would not hesitate to buy one. (Say $600-650 for a basic carbine)

The S&W website lists the CA-compliant Sport at $735. So of course I paid $750 at my LGS here in the SF Bay area. Lol

They have a rifle kit with everything but the stripped lower. The kit is 449. I figure the lower is about 100 to 150. Should come out about 600 or so.
Now of course that's pretty close to the mp15 sport. You do get the dust cover and the forward assist on the build. Of course you get the life time warrenty with the mp15 sport. Never a clear answer huh?

Well hold on to your shorts. I saw one ca comp for 599. Sorry. Heck I though about it. Can that button be taken out and a button put in?

I'm baffled as to why anyone would sell a CA-compliant model anywhere other than in CA? Especially since even we don't want them. haha.

I figure that they made so many CA compliant rifles and they didnt sell, the gun dealers are trying to get their hands on whatever they can to sell and thats what is available!

Have you guys seen any sports lately? I've been lookin and can't seem to come across one. I am lookin for a standard sport no restrictions.
thanks
