The scope is mounted as far forward as it will go and still fit on the grooved receiver. I suppose a cantilever arrangement or a scope rail would work, but the eye relief is good for me as is.
I forgot to mention that I worked the trigger over for a light let-off and employed a trigger shoe to act as an overtravel stop. I also substituted a 69 ramped and hooded front sight for the original simple bead - just for looks.
