Opinions on the Eaa Windicator .357

I could never understand fooling with such low quality stuff, especially if a guy owns quality guns. I wouldn't even fool with guns on Taurus and Rossi
level for what guys call beaters or truck guns. Much rather have a S&W or Ruger that is a little beat but ok mechanically. A undependable, inaccurate
gun is worthless for any purpose. I grade guns as 1st class, 2nd rate and
Junk. Windicator is the later.

Well, how can that be said if people do the opposite all the time? I see people bashing Taurus left and right all over the place. Yet theres people that swear by them and have 1000s of rounds thru them. The Pt111 g2 for example, its hard to find any bad reviews on it. Im just curious why the bad reviews on the windicator? Is it because its cheaper, maybe the brand? Ive seen a few s&w revolvers that I wasnt really that impressed with. They werent poorly made but man did they just look cheap. One was a 637 and I dont remember the other. So, is it more of a brand thing or build quality with the windicator or both? Thx for all the replies btw

I have handled many in gun stores and shot some when offered at the range. I hated the thin trigger. It just hurt. Add to that how big and bulky the gun is, I'd opt for the new Taurus 856 (6 shot 38 Special) at 22 ounces and much better trigger and profile at a street price around $300. I also have a Kimber K6S (same size as the Taurus) which I carry in rotation with my Taurus 856, but the Kimber is in a different price universe. BTW, once I bought the Kimber K6S and the Taurus 856, I sold my 4 S&W J-frames (5 shots and double action triggers not as good as the Taurus - to my feel).

Best part of the "Windicator" is the name. It was originally Vindicator but after seller a few guns they learned that someone owned that name. So rather than come up with a new name they stamped the remaining guns to change the V to a W. The first batch stamped with a V became collector items.

Well, my wife saw me looking at the Windicator and suprised me with one last week. Yes, I got lucky and married a woman who also loves guns haha. Anyways, I still wasnt sure about it but now im having second thoughts. Ive put 50rds of federal 158gr lrn thru it and a box of 50 federal 158 jsp .357 mag. It seems to handle very well thus far. It is very solid and stout, nothing loose, still locks up pretty tight. I dont really care for the bluing so much but I think its alright for a $300 .357. I am still eyeballing the ruger gp100 and s&w 686.

If I could find another Rossi revolver comparable to the M60 clone I bought NIB twenty-one years ago, I would snap it up. It was a very nice little gun to tide me over till I could get a Smith J-frame. Good trigger, fit and finish almost comparable to a Smith. I carried it for a couple of years, then sold it to a friend. I wish I had kept it for a spare.

Excellent value for very little money--I paid $189.
