I have an opportunity to acquire SN 69726. $250.00 Why in Heavens name am I hesitant? Honest wear, about 40 to 50% blue left, some wear on the lettering, I do not remember it being the Target Model. Your thoughts are sought, please and thank you. Jim

That should be a straight Model of 1905, before the first change was introduced. There are not that many of those, and despite its worn condition you should pick it up as an uncommon specimen.

This is the last .38 HE made with the straight trigger return spring and rocker assembly. The first change introduced the now familiar trigger rebound slide with internal coil spring.

Do you remember the barrel length? Those are extremely elegant revolvers with the long 6.5-inch barrel.

If you decide you don't want it after you get it, let me know.

Since the second and third ran concurrent and your number is low? Neither will have a hardened cylinder, so lead bullet service loads are about it, wadcutters may be safer/better. Depends on what you want $250 seems to be the norm for about any M&P in the condition your describe, in my area.

I'd likely pass.

I THINK THE "TARGET" MODEL WOULD HAVE AN ADJUSTABLE REAR SIGHT.\
I HAVE A 1905 3RD CHANGE IN NICKEL AND 4" BARREL. PAID $200.00 A YEAR AGO. SORRY FOR CAPS!:o

I have the Nickel 1905 2nd change SN 95519. Paid $270. I would buy it again at that price. I have shot it and it is quite accurate and action is fine.
