Ordered Departure at US Embassy Baghdad

FWIW, I think the Israeli strike will create leverage for the US as they attempt to negotiate monitoring and oversight designed to frustrate / delay Iran's quest for nuclear capability. I believe that Iran will use Nukes if they get the chance. They want us arguing over 1st world problems while they gain strength. Complacency will be our downfall.

Same thing happened with Saddam and his Nuke stuff. Israel took them out while everyone else was just talking. This will be no different. Iran fought Iraq and Saddam for years while using children to run through minefields. That war ended in a stalemate because neither country was strong enough to overpower the other. Iran is not that strong...unless the get enough nukes and missiles. Israel probably just set them back a few decades....hopefully.

I think most nuclear powers don't want to see more nations, whichever side they might claim to be on, get such weaponry. The world doesn't need more little crazy brothers play the game and even threaten so-called allies. I think China would abhor N. Korea get nukes and Russia deep down can't trust a Muslim nation such as Iran.

I wouldn't be surprised if Putin secretly is pulling for Israel's success in its strikes.Ditto Xi opposing N. Korea which might upset China's long term strategy by a rash act.

The strikes by Israel was a masterstroke. Took out quite a bit of the Iranian top command.

Iran was reported to be within days of having 10 to 15 nuclear devices up and running.

Big question will be what damage was done, if any, to those specific items. Not like with the reporting this wasn't telegraphed so was Iran prepared in hiding the material?

Second question will be how stable the replacement staff will be. The whole Devil you know thing.

How those 2 questions intertwine will be paramount in which direction this all goes.

Other factor is propaganda being put out to the Iranian people about the time is now to act on a change in regime. How successful Israel is in getting that out to the masses will be vital to going forward.

News networks were showing that around 2PM EST that Iran was firing missiles into Tel Aviv at that moment. Looks like their retaliation has started. Now, to wait and see how the IDF retaliates for that. It ain't gonna be purty.

Probably a lot higher now.
Doesn't London have "No Go" muslim neighborhoods that the police are afraid to go into?
No. I worked with several UK police of different types in Somalia. There is nowhere in all the UK they were afraid to go, including the most dangerous areas of Northern Ireland. Even there they are overwhelmingly unarmed.

Much of what folks learn about countries without going there is nonsense generated through movies. TV, social media, etc.

I have been to London many years ago. I hear it is not anywhere near the same culture/ languages spoken now as compared to way back then.
Traditional British culture is being dissolved by waves of unrestricted immigration. Kind of like here in the US.

We don't have to agree.

Added: Look objectively at how well pre-emptive wars have worked in the region, especially for us, particularly Iraq. The sooner we have nothing to do with the unresolvable hatreds between 6 million Israelis and a billion Muslims of diverse sects in the Middle East South Asia, and North Africa, the better, IMO. And yes, I have worked extensively in the region.

One simply cannot just sweep the dust from the door to an underground dungeon filled with hatred and expect a good outcome.
