Out of Work....Again!

Now I have a Mersa infection in my nose and upper mouth soft tissues!! My mouth looks like an algae eater and I can barely talk. If someone calls me to set up an interview it will surely be interesting!

MRSA (methicillin resitant Staphylococcus aereus) is not good stuff and often made worse by stress. I feel for you. Did you get someone to write you a prescription for some Bactrim, it's the only thing that will kill it off. Occassionally we get some samples at work but never Bactrim, or else I would hook you up. It should be available as a generic for $4 at Wally World if you can get your doctor to write the script.

Good luck with the job hunt, maybe the FBI will reimburse you for information regarding Medicaid fraud at your former employment. They're nailing those types of places all over the country these days. I would at least send in an anonymous tip or you can tell me the name of the company and I'll do it.

Take care of yourself.

Maybe there is more to your "out of work again" than you are letting on. The cleaned up racist remark might be a good step,I don't know.I've just dealt with people that always thought it was other people bringing them misery, but it wasn't.And you working in the public should take better care of that kind of talk, this isn't eyes only top secret stuff.

I must be missing something too. I havent seen anything remotely near a racist remark!

Dacoontz-I think I'll just let it ride.As Lee J. said in the thread he closed this a S&W forum- and I wish all the politics, race, religion etc.would go somewhere else. Our common bond should be the joy of owning, shooting, fixing, reloading for, showing off firearms-S&W and all others.I hope slowburninsteve has good luck finding a job,I've walked a mile in his shoes and hope to hear any and all positive news from him.To all it may concern-please talk guns here.

feralmerrill-if you will look at the time line there was a post at 8:17 and an edit at 8:47 by slowburninsteve- that was it. The remark was changed.

Well, I aint interested then. Aint a soul ever breathed that didnt say something he wished he hadnt. He tried to correct it, thats good nuff for me.

Fair enough, I guess I missed it then. No worries.

Response

Setxn,

I have waited several days to cool off before responding to your insinuations related to my personality, beliefs, and actions. Perhaps you would be better served to know something about someone before writing the things you did. I take them as a personal affront which I'm sure would not have occurred should you have been standing face to face with me. Enough about this, just to let you know most of the clients I have worked with over the years are African-America. Some of them have become life long friends, almost adopting me into their families. I have been there when their children were born, died, and struggled with life's challenges in-between. I believe that people are people and the color of their skin does not dictate the amount of good or evil they are capable of.

As far as the quality of my work, I retired after 20 years from the one previous to the last. If I was such a terrible person I'm sure that I would not have been there that long.

When you posted a complaint about who my swollen lips looked like (which happened to be a predominate black female involved in politics by name who does have very large lips) I immediate revised my post as to not ruffle any feathers. This obviously did not satisfy you, as you then took it upon yourself to post other times about either reporting my post to the owner, alleging that I am racist, and the type of work character I have.
Sir, I have been a member for of this forum for many years and have developed many good friends while here. I can appreciate your feeling offended when someone you are a fan of was poked fun at, but I think you go beyond that. You obviously have an axe to grind, and unfortunately that is something not tolerated on the forum, which we all are only guests of the owner.
I only ask that next time you think twice before posting insinuations about members, and appreciate that all of us are human on here, with varying degrees of ways of expressing humour. In turn, if you were offended by my original post, I apologize, but let this end NOW! We are here for information, advice, and in some cases, support with problems we are going through. I appreciate the support from my buddies here during this trying time in my life, and would appreciate the end of the insinuations, threats, and disparaging remarks.

slowburninsteve-poor performance by both of us. As you can see in post #26 I was trying to put an end to this before it got ugly.My read of the situation was wrong, the racist remark was wrong,me thinking you were playing the blame game was wrong.Hopefully my last negative comment about anything on this forum.Smiles and guns!!My apologies in return and good luck on your job search .Setxn

MRSA

Dac, you are right, this is nasty stuff!!!! It stinks, ruptures, itches, and stinks some more. The Dr. did put me on Bactrim which was doing a very slow job of clearing it up, and added another antibiotic to attack it from another angle. I'm a lot better than I was, but still not up to appearing in public for important stuff (I'm kind of glad I haven't gotten a call for an interview with the way I look and smell!). I appreciate the advice, and you were right on.

Still out of work

It's been seven weeks and I'm still out of work. I've applied for over 30 jobs, got one interview, and still waiting to hear the outcome. I've got to plead my case on 7/15 for unemployment. Here in Virginia unless you get laid off you have to pretty much beg to get it. This is getting depressing. I started working a regular job at age 16 and have worked ever since, either part time in high school and college, or full time the rest of the time. Send some good karma my way. I could sure use it!!! :( Thanks for the support folks!!
Steve

look now may be the time to look at other areas of work until something comes through, go to a construction workers union and try to get into their apprenticeship program for electricians, even if they put you on the reserve list that is $10 per hour as a helper, I know what it feels like I was there very recently and was stuck for about 2 or so months working minimum wage for a slave driver doing manual labor, but my family stayed fed and sheltered and that out weighs the downside. Hang in there, and have you tried looking at craigslist for jobs?

Good thoughts continue to flow your way from out here near the Pacific. I have been following your situation in posts over the months, and it really bothers me that you (and others on this forum who have lost jobs or had their positions reclassified) are prevented from making use of skills and talents that are very much needed. I continue to be an optimist on your behalf, and on the behalf of every other member of this list who has described or alluded to a current health or employment challenge.

Hang tough. Bad situations do get better; challenging times do fade into the past.
