I still use Horlicks malted milk powder when I can locate it: most often in Asian groceries.

I'm not sure, but I thought I heard a slam on blue hair. That's totally unfair and you are cancelled. If I had any hair I would make it blue out of spite. And besides, Ovaltine has malt. Have you compared the taste of a chocolate milkshake to a chocolate malt? Many years ago, I discovered that a chocolate shake was 25 cents and a malt was 35 cents. The lights went on and I never looked back.

Because the only ones still drinking the stuff are blue hairs stuck on nostalgia. You know, the same folks that use Hoppe's #9.

Well....am I lucky that I have no blue hairs and use Ballistol! But I do like Ovaltine, regular or chocolate. Sometimes make some in hot milk if I can't sleep.

Here in this ex-colony, it's about $8.00 (~$6.30 USD)

I couldn't tell you the last time I had ovaltine, but I've been going to the ovaltine cafe in downtown Vancouver since my old man and I started playing pool on hastings in the fifties, it opened in '42 and still going, I wonder if jokes like amazon will last that long?

We used to have Ovaltine when I was a kid. It was OK, but I always preferred Nestle's Quik. Still do, and still drink it to this very day.

I tried Ovaltine one time and to this day I have never figured out why anyone would want to drink it.

Last year when I went to spend time in OR with my daughter and grand kids she bought a "mans" bar soap for me so I didn't have to use "girly" soap.

I liked the soap and knew my local stores wouldn't have it so I checked Amazon and it was $6.92 for two bars of soap.

We went back to where she bought it and bought all they had for $2.49 for two bars of soap.

Well, as the ancient Romans used to say, "De gustibus non est disputandum", which I think means "If you don't like it, you can always throw up" or something like that You're likely not too keen on Marmite, either. (I read somewhere that Marmite can be used for bedding rifles once it's well past its sell-by date, so that old jar in the back of the cupboard may still be useful.)

You have to wonder about some of the sellers on Amazon. I lost a Phillips bit from my Megapro multi-bit screwdriver (excellent, industrial-grade drivers, BTW) and, not thinking anyone locally had them, looked on Amazon since I can't get down to Hardware Sales in Bellingham WA where I'd bought it years ago. $12.00!!!! Megapro is a Canadian company whose head office is about 30 miiles from me, but the screwdrivers are made in Niles, MI (Yes- actually American-made. How rare is that?) I was in a local tool store and thought I'd check. Yep- they had 'em. $2.69.

Kraft malted milk powder was my choice. I only suffered enough Ovaltine to get my red plastic Captain Midnight mug. Terrible stuff, could hardly be convinced to dissolve in milk. OK, a can of Hershey's or some Quick were ok too. You had to cut out the wax top seal to send in with your twenty five cents. Maybe two of of them, now that I think of it.
