OVER TO THE DARK SIDE...2022 PYTHON

It's true the new Python Stainless finish comes off looking "black" in certain, low-level light conditions, then looks perfectly stainless under normal lighting!
I've been temped to polish mine to a higher luster but held off for just that reason.

I see you modified your factory grips slightly. How is it working for you?

Sal must have more pull with the gun shipping gods.

Probably discrimination toward the fairer sex.
Anyway, Got mine yesterday. Had hoped to get to the range today but too many other things that had to be done. Handling it, I'm not sure about the grips, will decide after shooting it.

Congratulations Sal

Pythons are just beautiful revolvers

Deer Hollow has some beautiful wood grips

I bet a set of Grasshorn's are going to look very good as well, I can't wait to see those pictures.

I have not picked up one of the 3" offerings yet, but I will just to fill the 3" slot.

Though as to finish, I would call the current generation of pythons semi-bright polished stainless. The older "High Polished" offerings were refereed to as Ultimate Stainless or Bright Stainless depending on the era they were manufactured in. I have Colts marked both ways but they left the Factory mirror bright

My old 2 1/2" Ultimate Stainless Python has been with me for just shy of 4 decades so far

While the Hogue grips on mine are not true to the original lines of the revolver, these work very well for me from a shooting standpoint

Yet the cuffs look strangely like S&W cuffs being carried with that Colt. Do they bitch at each other over who actually gets credit for the arrest? :)

I cut it to just barely allow the Safariland J-P3C comp to drop in place. I like the way the Safariland "injects" the cartridges into the chambers with pressure on the loader body.

I have considered opening up the recess on the grip panel but I kind of like the more "techno" looking aspect of a clean "bite" versus having the crescent blended in....eventually I will probably do that.

The crazy thing is, what are the odds I'm ever gonna "need" to speedload the Python, or even carry it versus the myriad of much more suitable carry guns!
