Does your factory barrel sight have plenty of elevation adjustment?
The lower front sight will solve that problem. I think I used the lowest bead sight that Lyman had and it works fine. I also have a .44 carbine. That one would have had the same problem but I put a Skinner rear on it. That added enough extra height on the rear to make the sights useable without changing out the front. Either way will solve the problem but I wish Ruger would get this right. This is a very common problem on an otherwise really neat little carbine.Thank you both for the replies.
