Shoot as much of it as you can afford. Ain't gonna hurt it one bit.

+P in a 15-4,,,yes or no ?
S&W has stated you can shoot .38 Special +P ammo in any all Steel revolver with a Model Number. (1957 or later) Many agree any post WWII revolvers are also safe but yours for sure is fine, directly from S&W.

You have to remember, many of those revolvers were made before there was a +P designation so how would it be possible for there to be a +P on the barrel even though you can shoot the ammo? Besides, most current +P ammo is no hotter than the standard ammo that was available back when the older revolvers were made.

ArchAngel CD has hit the nail on the head. Modern +P is no hotter than the standard 158 gr. RNL 'service' loads of the 50s or 60s. Thought I was the only one of this opinion!

Only reason S&W states not to use +P ammo is that they did not have it back then to test in their all steel guns.

If asked if they are stronger than the new "Airweight" +P revolvers , they will state yes...........but they are not going to rewrite the books for the higher velosity, preasure, loadings.

M14,15,36,49 and 60; 38 specials are all steel J frames.
The 60-9 in around 1996 was turned into a .357 magnum with a J magnum frame.
