What model do you have?

The post says "Model 38." If so, I'm with Moondawg; that load is a bit stiff.

He did "Sort of" say it was a Model 38 - which is a particular snubby Model that S&W makes. What we need now is how old this one is???

In general, I'd say if it is in good shape, it would be fine with +P loadings. But then +P and +P+ loadings have never, to my knowledge, actually been defined.

Now, as MOONDAWG said you are exceeding the Maximum loading with 4.4grs of W-231 behind a 158gr bullet and even more so since your "Bullet" is a lead one and the pressures will be higher than a Jacketed one of the same weight.
