Has anyone tried installing a Pachmayr Compac Professional K/L frame roundbutt grip on a N frame roundbutt? I'm pretty sure I saw someone do this on a shooting instructional dvd I once saw. The fit didn't seem too bad. The grip seemed to be pretty even with the curved part of the backstrap. Just not vertical top part of the backstrap.

Thanks

It's not that close. It fits, but looks ...... like K frame stocks on an N frame. Might be acceptable on a blued/ black gun.

That's the grip I run on all my K-L-N framed round butt revolver's. It fit's my hand perfectly, period.

I have K frame Pachmayr round butt compacs on my N frame 329PD, and they fit perfectly.

Pachmayr RB K Grippers, were factory on my ol' (long gone) 4" M625-3.

Fit was pretty good, & although not Pach Compac's - per the OP, I always thought they were well suited.

There was a 3" M624 wearing Compac's, that was sold on the Classified section here, a while back. Looked like a real nice combination, to me.

In my opinion S&W should have just made the N-Frame round butt grip frame the same as the K-Frame round. Make the grips as interchangeable as possible. Even the big X-Frame uses a K-Frame round grip.

Can a gunsmith modify an N-frame round butt to K-Frame round? I have seen an N-Frame square butt converted but not round.

I think the N frame sideplate location would prevent that, although I'm not around my guns to doublecheck that assertion.
