Parts interchange between current guns and older Sigmas?

Would an older Sigma slide and barrel fit on the frame of a current production gun? Specifically, could I fit an older 357 Sig slide and barrel onto a new 40 frame?

Here is the SW357V barrel installed in the SD40VE slide.

The barrels look to be the same. The SW357V barrel is on the top, SW40VE center, and the SD40VE barrel is on the bottom.

I have yet to shoot the SD with the 357V barrel installed.
