Passed on a 64-3 with 3" barrel and real Tyler T-grip

Some states allow "take it now" if the buyer has a CCW. FL comes to mind. So perhaps "instant gratification" was at play. I tend to buy C&R because I can take it straight away, not so much on the modern stuff.

Thank you for the perspective. Im learning that ‘it depends’ so much on where one resides. in CA for me back in the day it was residence and 10-day waiting with FFL involvement as well. No ccw-related get-it-faster options
In TN, if face to face, it’s nice to see a DL or a CCW card for a CYA. From a bricks and mortar store; a DL suffices for the background check…and still just a 10 minute background check.

One nation, so many nuances

38 Specialist, if you've never experienced shooting a 3" S&W revolver, I highly recommend you buy that 64 and give it a try...I promise you won't regret it. :)
For the life of me I cannot figure out why Smith has not re-introduced the 3 inch K frames in .38 Special or .357, some with adjustable sights.
They could sell a ton of them.
