Passed one by today, I think maybe I shouldn't have!

I stopped at a shop today and spied a 6" M53. I didn't have them take it out of the case, but it looked pretty mint sitting there. Not sure of the dash # but it had non-diamond targets on it so I would guess it was a later model.

Thing is it only had the .22 lr cylinder, no Jet cylinder. Seeings as I have an 8-3/8" 4 screw M53 and a 6" M17 I figured I didn't need it.
Other thing is the price tag said $619. If it had a Jet cylinder I would have bought it on the spot at that price. I don't know how hard a jet cylinder would be to come by but it would probably be easier then a lr cylinder for a 53.

I'm going to be back in the area Monday, may have to take a closer look!

My view is really depends on how difficult, and how much, it costs to get a well fitting jet cylinder.

You might also check to see if the .22LR cylinder is numbered to the frame as mine is......Ben

My 6" model 53 is very accurate with the LR cylinder. It is also cool to have a .22 with a shrouded ejector rod. I think for $6 bills that would have come home with me.

I would have thrown in my 6 " M-17 along with the bills if it came down to it.
