Passwords

I use Dashlane. It will generate a password if you wish and will keep track of the ones you generate. It keeps track of all the different password and will also change and generate a new password if you tell it too. I'm sure it's not perfect, but it's good enough for what I need.

I have a small hardbound note pad (3" x 5") book as I have several hundred passwords that I do change from time to time. Using the same password for everything and never updating a PW is not a wise move IMHO. If someone gets it - you're compromised on every account! I also do not use birth dates, anniversary dates, etc. I use randomly made up PW's. The ones I use every day I remember. The ones I seldom use I refer to my book.

BTW, I am curently in the process of duplicating and updating that book - just in case ...... I will also never store PW's on a computer. Everyone is hand written.

Way back in 2010, I still did not have a cell phone and relied on my "Land line" system.

My grand daughter set up my brand new HP All-in-One in the back room and
used her cell phone number, in setting the system up and I put in my password.

In 2024 she moved to Texas.

Now the company wants to change my E-mail with an "Upgrade", which I can't do, since my 2024 cell pnone # is different and not acceped for the password.

You think you have problems........... !!

I use Chrome as my browser and they are all saved in Chrome. I also get a notices from Chrome if a webpage I have a saved password for has been hacked and tells me to change my password

I use a Libre Office document to keep track of my 158 passwords, and log in information. I also keep a back up on Note Pad.

Print them out once in a while, and keep a copy on a flash drive.

Reusing passwords on multiple sites is a horrible idea. If one account is hacked, others are hacked. That's how scammers assume old forum identities and scam our members.

I used a book of passwords and usernames in the past, but most of my internet activity is now done on an iPad. I let it create and save strong passwords on my tablet.
