Personal Opinion...686SSR or 686+???

Hi,
I bought a used 686-6 4 inch 7 round about two years ago. I like the revolver and its my night stand gun. I have handled the SSR and like the revolver too but the extra expense to me is not worth it. Before I bought a SSR i would look for a 686-2 or 686-3. I had both of them and sold both to fund another project. I have regretted that decision ever since.

I carry mine in an El Paso Saddlery #2 Thumbreak. It's really hard to find an off the shelf holster for a 5" barrel and left hand draw so I had them make one for me. There are many other good leather workers - just use the search function to find them.
