Attended the Big Phoenix, Arizona Show this past weekend and found a pretty neat Heavy Duty Post War Transitional. It's a 4" gun, original nickel. By the serial number S 74670 I think it's from about 1949-1950.
It was wearing a pair of 1970s target grips, so I added the Pre War Magnas, that fit really well.

Great looking revolver! The nickel shines!

S78132 shipped in 1950, one of the first short actions. Yours has the old style hammer. Guessing 1949 or 48 but Roy will have a better answer.
