hey all... i just picked up a pair (not matching) of model 34's. blued, 4"bbl, 22lr... absolutely mint... not even drag marks on the cylinders. wondering their ages?

one is: M865xx

one is: 1023xx

both were in (what looks to be) original boxes, with paper work, sw wrapper, tool kit. other than the cleaning brush being dirty they look almost unfired.

any idea what they are worth?

The M-number gun is probably about 1977; the other one is about a dozen years earlier.

The short answer to the value question is, "Whatever you just paid for them." The longer answer (or one of the longer answers) is that if you got a couple of 34 lovers in a room bidding on them, you could probably go over $400 apiece pretty easily. But I don't follow 34s that closely, so you might want to check on Gunbroker and see what recent sales suggest. There is probably some regional variation, too. Some guns are simply pricier in some states than others.

Pictures?

I picked up a LNIB M34-1 snubbie a couple of years ago for $400 OTD- I think you can add about $150 to that price in todays market.

much appreciated guys... nice to know on the ages. one of the boxes had the liability 'agreement' printed in the bottom of the box and the year 1955 but i kinda doubted it was that old... very cool

i think i did pretty well on these money-wise... bought them about $100/each below what seems to be the going rate

only problem is i really want a little 22 wheel gun to shoot the heck out of and now knowing the ages... i hate to shoot them!!

There's nothing wrong with shooting them. Just give them a good cleaning and put them back in the box. OK, maybe shoot just one of them.
