I checked the photo for the M60 on the S&W website, and it looks like the front sight blade is pinned on. I have not seen that on fixed sight S&W revolvers. It seems like a good idea if the blade can be replaced by a taller one. My M442 shoots high with 158 gr ammo. Does anyone know if taller blades can be purchased, either from S&W or aftermarket suppliers? I could grind it down for exact POI.

I'm guessing what you saw was a Smith & Wesson Model 60 in .357 Magnum with 2 1/8" shrouded barrel.

Howdy, I have the model 60 in question, 2 1/8" .357 fixed sights. The sight is pinned and there is a number of extra sights available. Most are undrilled, so you will need to handfit them.

Midwayusa has a bunch.

I shoot mostly reloads through mine, but with 125-162 gr bullets it shoots Point of aim. I do however load my 357 warm to hot. Have not to date shot any 38 spl.

Thank you,
I think the idea of replaceable front blades on a fixed sight gun is a good idea. Better than adjusting the load to get POA. And, yes, it was a
2- 1/8 in barrel on a M60, 357 mag gun.

I am also looking at used M60's in .357 mag, with the short barrel, and would like to know what dash number S&W started using replaceable front blades?

Thanks,
