I have several of these, they work great (Mounting 22lrs can be a bit fiddly, though.)

I don't use racks. They take up too much space. I use socks. Insert handgun in sock and stack on shelf......Allows lots more "toys" in a limited space.

Hickock45 said he stores his handguns in silicone treated socks while in his safe. Following his lead, I buy 5 packs of Sack-Ups from Amazon and stand my pistols against each other to save safe space. The silicone treated sleeves keep moisture away from the guns and provide a cushion to prevent scratches and dings. A good thing.

I filled my small safe with drawers. Since this photo I cut each drawers height down some and now have 11 drawers. You can fit 2 4" and 2 6" in a single drawer. Snubs take up less room. A 8 3/8 500 with a scope doesn't get much company though.

I use the Hyskore foam racks. They easily come apart and multiple units can be combined with some threaded rods to form any length you want. The top two shelves of my safe have racks that run the complete width. They are resistant to chemicals and protect the pistols completely from incidental bumps.

I have a number of wire racks, but some of my guns have to lay flat on the shelf. Not a very good use of the space. Empty shotgun shells will do the job until I get busy and make something better.

I have a secure gun room rather than a safe and just have them in lined drawers in a chest of drawers I got at IKEA cheap.

When I bought my safe my wife complained about a refrigerator-sized box coming into my "man cave. I justified it by telling her it could also hold our important papers, checkbook, and jewelry. "I get more jewelry" she exclaimed?
Now I am allocated only a portion of the safe for my guns and the handguns are stacked on the floor of the safe in padded cases along with an AR and shotgun. The grandsons .22 rifles are in a separate stack-on with an electronic lock.
I do admit that it is very convenient to have all our papers in one place and that safe is opened and closed multiple times per day. If I were younger I would add a second just for me.

For those of you that use the foam racks have you ever had any problems from the foam retaining moisture/humidity? That would be my concern about them but otherwise I like them.

Gun Sorage Racks

Been using the Hyscore system for several years. Optimum protection, minimum exposure to handling damage. Can purchase 3 gun unit and can remove from storage without possibility of damage to other revolvers. Akin to storing revolvers in a cushioned easy chair.

Nope, never had an issue.

It needs a cleaning. That will give me a chance to see if I like that model.

One of my safes has a peg board on the door. I bought metal peg board hooks and double dipped them in that liquid rubber that dries like the rubber grips on pliers. Hang handguns by triggerguards w enough spacing not to rub each other. In other safes I have used wire racks as shown by others. They work well.

I've tried pistol socks but I've got enough handguns that digging to make sure I've grabbed the right pistol to put in the range bag is irritating to me.

The peg board hooks are a no go for me. My safe came with them and I used them for awhile, then my wife goes in there looking for some paperwork and knocks one of my 57's off (she's pretty careless). At least it landed on her foot and didn't hit the floor directly (tongue in cheek). I started researching racks the next day and came upon Rick's great racks. He's a local boy just up the coast from me and a veteran. He builds them himself with locally sourced materials, so they are truly "Made in America " and great quality.
