Hello and greetings from Montenegro.
I went to the range , first time today with my s&w.
I shoot 100 rounds of 38 spec , and 100 rounds of 357.
I saw this while I was cleaning my gun!!!
Is this a frame crack?

I can't tell from the pic. Can you get another one clearer with some light on it?

Thanks for the extra pics but unfortunately the forcing cone is shadowing the spot I think you're referring to. I believe it's a scratch but can't tell
That last pic is better. You mean that 45 degree mark below the forcing cone. Still looks like a scratch or tooling mark but a gunsmith can tell you for sure in person.

But , I have to say , it is an experience to have and to own 686.
It is the best revolver I ever had.
I mean , that power.
The sights.
The trigger.
Other guns felt like toys

I was on range today.
With beretta 92fs , sweet shooter.
Glock 17 gen 4 , great gun.
But this , this is precise as an arow , and power like cannon

I do not know why there are scratch marks on the gun, but I have examined each pic with a magnifying glass and I see no crack.

What is the model gun, and what 357 ammo by description are you using?
