I bought a 686-1 revolver from a good guy who has been laid off recently (by grace go I) Pacmeyer grips on it,they um suck, for lack of a better term. They are too long from fron to back and too narrow.
Thanks

Too edit my posit above ... I'm lookin for a better set of grips.
Any help is much appreciated!!

Most of my revolvers have Pachmayr grips. I have rather large hands and NEED a covered back strap.

However, if you have smaller hands, then Pachmayr Professional grips have open back straps which should suit you better.

If you must have rubber grips, I reccomend Hogue. If you want some real purty, make you drool Kingwood grips, I suggest Hogue!

I'm partial to Ahrends myself with Hogues coming in a close second. The Ahrends fit my small hands better on my K frames and are in the $60.00 range. The Hogue monogrip on my 657 .41 mag is the best grip I've found for it for both comfort and fit.
The S&W combats really tear my hands up. If you have to go with rubber (I like wood) Hogue's are the way to go IMO.
