Plug for the hole :D

I would be very interested in 2 blue "N", I SS "K", and 1 SS "J". I hope you make them up. If so, I'm about # 7 or so on your list!

OK guys, this is my first post after lurking around for awhile. After reviewing severals threads on this subject I finally yanked out the lock mechanism on my 442 this weekend. Piece of cake, probably less than 10 minutes. Like Rugerrev I left the lock cylinder in place, but would like to fill the small hole just above the grip. If anyone has a solution for this hole or any ideas, let us know.

John.............Can I assume that you have machined a small groove in your plug that the fork engages? This sounds like a good solution in that only the flag and that rinky-dink spring have to be removed to disable the factory lock mechanism. Is this correct?

Yes Sir, you are right.

Looks great, John. Hat's off to you if you can make a business out of it.
I like the flush look, but if I were you I might be tempted to put a little "bullseye" on it. ;)

I will take one in blue. When you are ready to sell them send me an email and a check will be on the way.

I think it's a great idea and thank you for offering it!!!

Great idea - make a kit that also fills in the flag hole and I wil take two for my 627s.

No fake screw slot for me - but if you want to put your logo on it, I would display is proudly. How about a key with a line and circle over it...

Question John?
Since I only have 2 examples to check it on (J's), do you or one of our other members know if the I.D. of the port is consistent year to year? And whether all the J frames have the same diameter, the L's, the N's?
Thanks! Your solution looks very good!

Thanks to everyone that replyed. Went to gun show in Dayton Ohio this weekend and I had to work today. I haven't made one with a screw slot in it yet. I not total setup yet, but I should have a few in the next week. I will contact as you fall in the list. Takes a little over a hour to make one, so I don't know what to charge yet, but should be $25 dollars or less shipped. Thanks again , and I think I have a cure for the other part of the lock too on filling the flag space. :D

Could you elaborate about the flag space solution?
Thank You
Steven
