polishing brass

Harbor Freight also has a small wet tumbler that's $53 plus they always have a 20% off coupon somewhere.
.... the wet method with steel pins has been faster and done a better job in my experience.

You'll have to spray them with some kind of lacquer or polyurethane to keep them from tarnishing.

I was going to post this very thing ..

I have one I think it was $38 with coupon.. Get the double Drum model
I use the SS pins a pinch of Lemon Shine and a cap full of Zip or Turtle shine Wash n Wax liquid the just cover with water....

The pins & lemon shine does the trick and the wax keeps the brass bright. Works a champ !

OK.... I bit the bullet and bought a tumbler from Harbor Freight and went to Sportsman Warehouse and bought some corn cob media. I ran some brass through for an hour (and this had been run through a vibrator at work with a bit more course media) and they came out looking quite nice. I don't have any "old" brass right now to try the vinegar and water cleaning.
But what I have found, the brass came out nice, I'm gonna check with some people and see about programming some letters and holes for the brass and make a plaque. I will put some type of clear coat or polyurethane on the finished product to protect. This will take some time, but I will post some pictures of the finished product.
Thanks for your suggestions!!
