POLL: New Model 52 Magazines

The magazines for the beloved Model 52 have been out of production for a couple of decades at least. The limited supply is driving prices to unusually high prices. As of this posting, $200 per magazine seems to be the going price on GunBroker and eBay.

It would be really nice if a quality manufacturer like MecGar or Metalform would start making new magazines to replace the aging ones that most of us are using. The only way that is going to happen is if we can convince them that there is money to be made by developing and producing them.

So the question is, how much demand is there, and at what price point? This poll is aimed at making that determination.

Please select how many magazines you would commit to and the maximum price you would be willing to pay to get NEW high quality magazines for your Model 52.

PLEASE make only ONE selection for quantity and ONE selection for price.

For example: I would be willing to commit to buying 2 magazines and paying $100 each for them.

Lastly, PLEASE do not sidetrack this thread into a discussion or airing of opinions. This thread is only to gauge interest and gather data in regards to trying to get new magazines for the Model 52. Please post ONLY information directly related to your interest in buying new magazines for the Model 52.

I'd buy a couple at $100 ea. and check them for function. Then maybe some more. I do love my 52-2 for paper punching.

Once I found out they functioned properly, I would buy a couple at 100 each, no higher.

I've not yet met a Mec-Gar problem child. Certainly they must exist, but I'm not even aware of a particular product they market that is a problem for other folks, let alone for me.

Glad to see you took up the project BC38. The results are already interesting. Thanks for doing this. I put down for 4 magazines at 100 bucks each, but if they worked well I would no doubt buy more just to have them.

I'm considering selling my Dad's LNIB Model 52-2 with two mags because of the lack of mag availability. If I could buy a couple at anything under $100 each, I would have to change my metric. ��

I'd buy three at 150, two at 200! Only if from a reputable company. I would not buy any Pro Mags, unless they were $20 max.
