Pop Tarts used to be a breakfast staple at my house when I was growing up. I'd sometimes grab a package on my way to the school bus or stick one in my hunting jacket before daylight on my way to the deer stand. Unfrosted strawberry was my favorite flavor, but I liked the frosted brown-sugar cinnamon too. I have not had a Pop Tart in years, even though there's usually a box in the cabinet for the kids who may grab one on the run. Seems I saw a box of frosted strawberry in our cabinet.

I went down the cereal aisle at the local market yesterday and the Pop Tart display caught my eye so I stopped to take a look. There were a few mainstay Pop Tart flavors on the shelf, but as I looked across the offerings, most of them sounded just plain gross with no appeal to me at all. I winced at the two "pretzel" flavors they had, and I wondered what was the purpose of the "Fruit Loops" flavor when I could just get a box of Fruit Loops if that's what I wanted.

Just saying, life was so much simpler when there was only three or four flavors of Pop Tarts on America's store shelves.

Heresey!

Cinnamon, Strawberry & Blueberry are the best. I even like the Cinnamon Bun version (which is actually very tasty), but some of this stuff is too much.

I compare it to restaurant/bar burgers these days...some of the stuff I see folks ordering is very, very odd.

Tastes vary considerably. Pop Tarts were nasty in the '60s when they came out (I think it was the '60s !). It would take a mighty hunger to indulge today as I doubt they've improved.

I'm down for the cinnamon flavor. No surprise they wanted to expand their offerings. It's part of the process when you've been in business that long. I can't see pop tarts without thinking of this comedy bit from Brian Regan [ame]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r6GHPIwkXl0[/ame]

Pop tarts & coffee got me to class many mornings in college. (Hint from several years of experience, if you have been drinking heavily the night before, eat the pop tarts first to get something solid on your stomach first, then start to introduce liquids.) I also carried Pop Tarts and apples/pears in my pack for mid morning snacks when in my deer stands.

Frosted brown sugar cinnamon and frosted strawberry are in my house right now. There will be a box accompanying me to dove camp next week.

No other flavors are acceptable here. Nuff said.

Cinnamon Poptarts are still my favorite to this day, I literally just had some as a quick Breakfast this morning before Church.

As for the Pretzel Poptarts, don't knock 'em till you've tried 'em. Last year I bought a box of both the Chocolate Pretzel and Cinnamon/Sugar Pretzel Poptarts on Clearance at Ollie's out of pure curiosity, and I ended up loving them both. I honestly would buy the Cinnamon/Sugar Pretzel Poptarts regularly if they sold the at Sam's Club where I do my regular grocery shopping.

Come to think of it, I've tried a lot of weird Poptarts that I found at Ollie's; Fudge Sundae, Peanut Butter Cookies, Pumpkin Pie, Pretzel, etc... The only one that I can recall distinctly disliking was "Strawberry Milkshake Poptarts" now THOSE were gross.
