Prayer said for both of you. I pray that they can put her on a medication that will not affect her thinking and balance.
If she is up and about she might need a walker to help steady her.

Discontinuing those pain meds and substituting something else should have been done by the Doctor as soon as he was told.
A walker may be of help. Very close supervision may be the best.

That's a fairly common reaction to some pain meds as we get older. Her doc should be able to find something that helps without the horrible side effects.
