We've had to delay services until next Wednesday due to family being out of town. Dad will be buried with military honors then.
A couple of quick pics.
In San Francisco as a RADAR operator during the Korean War
I remember him telling me that his CO at Fort Sill asked for a volunteer to type reports. He volunteered even though he could type very little. A couple days later his unit got orders for Korea. He stayed behind since he was the typist. A bit later he was asked if he knew anything about RADAR. He truthfully said no, and then received new orders transferring him to The Presidio in San Francisco as a RADAR operator where he served out the remainder of his enlistment. Offered a promotion to Sergeant and a cash bonus to reenlist, he elected instead to muster out and come home to Texas.
The way you write of your father, the pictures you post, all speak to a justifiable pride as you honor him. May God bless you and your family as you mourn his passing. Sincerely. bruce.
