Prayers and thoughts request *UPDATED @ 12:46 11/30 *

I wrestled with putting this photo up. I usually don't make a habit of posting photos of my son online. Much less other peoples children. I will make an exception in this case. This is a photo of my son and the little girl mentioned in the thread. I don't have to tell you how much they think of each other. I spoke with her father on the phone this morning. I tried to keep it together but wound up blubbering like a baby. I felt embarrassed initially. But after finding this photo of her and my son at his 3rd birthday party, I think it's understandable how I feel. God bless all of the little children.

Prayers sent and continuing for both the little girl and her family. May God Bless and comfort them. Ultra Sounds, CT Scans, and MRI's are no fun no matter what the age. Even as a parent and grandparent, I cannot imagine the grief of watching my child go through the terror of numerous tests and procedures, wanting to cry, but having to be brave as to not frighten her worse than she already is. My heart goes out to them. -Ed.

I know exactly how you feel. When my son was 4, his best friend died over the weekend from bacterial meningitis. And when my daughter was 5, her 6-year old close cousin was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumor and died a year later. Life is very fragile and children are very precious.

I finally have an update to share with you. Surgery has been scheduled for little "EB" on Friday. She has a tumor about the size of a small lemon at the base of her brain. The surgery Friday will remove the tumor. There are 3 types that the tumor can be ... Type 1 is nonmalignant ... Types 2 and 3 are malignant. So please pray that when they do the surgery they find that this one is Type 1. They put the shunt in last night and it has stabilized the pressure in her brain. So far she has remained a feisty little gal.

Her family is staying at a Ronald McDonald house the next few nights to gain some rest. They have slept in waiting rooms at the hospital since Monday.

Please keep the prayers going, and hopefully the tumor will be non-malignant. Remember all of the sick and afflicted this Thanksgiving, and be thankful for what you have. I will keep you posted as I find out. Thanks again, God bless you all, and Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you for the update. She is a beautiful little girl, and you have a handsome son! My continued prayers for EB and her family. Please let her parents know that we are all praying for EB. May God keep EB safe and her parents strong.

A little bit of an update. Surgery is scheduled for 8am Friday morning. It is expected to last around 8 hours, and be very meticulous. Please continue to keep EB, her family, friends, and especially all of the medical teams tending to her in your thoughts and prayers. I probably will not have another update until after the surgery tomorrow evening.

Thank you.

Well, I have an update. And it isn't as well as hoped for. The surgery started at 8am this morning and it was completed a little while ago. The tumor is definitely cancer. The Dr's aren't sure yet if it's a type 2 or 3 tumor. It was stated by the Doc's that it is dangerous but not hopeless. They were not able to remove all of it either. There was some swelling, and some of the cerebellum had to be removed, but it's is said she can overcome that part. EB has a very long road ahead of her. Please keep your thoughts and prayers coming. They are appreciated. God bless.

I just stepped into the lounge and saw this. Tears welled up in my eyes (as I sit here with my 4 year old princess who has bronchitis, knowing how uncomfortable she is with something so minor and temporary), thinking about EB and her parents.
My family will be praying for her.
God is completely in control and he still works miracles. Please let her and her family know that so many people are praying for her; hopefully they will receive some comfort from knowing they are being remembered.

New update. EB is still on a ventilator and sedated. But that is normal for this type of procedure. She had some pretty critical issues with her blood pressure being too high yesterday, and they were attempting to lie her on her back. But every time she was turned over her blood pressure shot up. Fortunately, by this morning, her blood pressure has stabilized and they have her on her back now. Keep the prayers coming. It's a long road ahead. Thanks again to everyone.

Many prayers from many people will continue for EB and her family. May God be with them, and keep them strong.

What a horrific ordeal for the young lady and family.
May God bless them all and hope everything works out for the best.
