Here is the pre 29 4" I found a couple weeks ago after and
little clean up.
Lock's up like a vault..just a little holster wear.
I should peal off the cokes but man they feel great.
According to the "book" its numberd about 2000 before they received the
model numbers.
Lucky find.

Why would you take the Cokes off if you like them?

You saving them for some stranger?

You know, when these guns were made, it was not the designer's intent that they should be stuck away in purse in a closet somewhere.

Otherwise, you might as well just carry around and old rusty claw hammer.

Great lookin gun! I'd be hiding the Cokes, too, and putting a nice set of Kuracs on it for daily use. Or goodyears, as ugly as they are they sure do work!

Man,that's a nice old gun. I agree that if the grips feel great they should be left on and enjoyed. A few years back I picked up a blue 57 no dash in 4 inch. No cokes, but diamond targets original to the gun. My problem is my average to small hand which is totally out of sync with the large, flared bottom of the N-frame targets. I don't shoot the 41 mag very often so when I do I just suffer through the range session cause I ain't gonna seperate the gun from the beautiful grips. I have brought the gun along on a hunting trip or two and I did change to some comfortable grips (Hogue) to enhance accracy with the full power loads and to keep the targets looking good.

Enjoy the revolver. It's definitely a keeper.

That's a beautiful revolver!
I think It's my favorite S&W. It has everything going for it.
Beautiful lines and shape, great finish, and the versatility to load up or down.
The bottom line is, that is one fine looking revolver.

I have one that I leave the Cokes on for range and carry.
It's a high condition gun and I intend to keep it that way. Though I've also shot it and will some more.

That is a great looking 44 magnum. The dark cokes look great as well. They really do feel much better than later targets when shooting. Congratulations!

Oh this little ol' thing? Just something I threw on.
