pre-29 questions

The 44 magnum was available in 1956 and cokes were discontinued in 1966 or so

An old box of Norma shells came with the piece with 12 shells missing. Sort of makes me wonder, if that's all she was shot!

Coke bottle stocks began to be phased out in early 1966. 44 Magnum ammunition was available a limited basis until mid-56 when Remington/Peters produced enough for general use. The American Rifleman of July 1956 has an ad for Peters 44 Magnum ammunition.

I had a hard time leaving any behind. All of the handguns came wtih original boxes. The colts have the manuals and test targets still in the box. I only have a few Smiths, and I almost didn't take the pre 29 but it was just to nice to pass up.

I think most of the rest of us get 1 gun like these in about every 10. Like the difference between moon shine and coors light. You got a great group of guns. Even that T bolt deluxe is a great rifle as long as it doesn't have the salt of death wood.

I hope you mean to say you gave $1400 for the S&W alone, because if you got them all $1400:eek:.....well......would you take $1600 :p

T bolt

Jim, fortunately the rifle was made in 1966,so nix the salt wood.

Jeff, Very nice score on the grouping indeed.
All beautiful and with the original Boxes as well....
Just once Lord willing, do i get this chance.
