Log onto gunbroker.com and see what the prices are for primers these days. They are getting $70 to $90 per 1000. I $36 isn't great but it’s not bad either. If they have them, buy them. I got lucky and got a bunch a while back. I am set for at least 20,000 rounds of different calibers. I have powder, brass and bullets. I saw what was coming and didn't wait. You could also get primers for I think around $21 per 1000 CCI from Graf and sons. They will be on back order and you don't pay till they ship. At least you look into a price if you order. Good luck.

the hitch there of course is the hazmat fee...i too have at least 20,000 primers....just not large rifle...LOL...besides...my crffl is enroute...which is a decent discount in the event i do have to place an order

Yes there is the hazmat fee, but for the fee of $22.50 and handling of $4.50, no shipping charges and no taxes, I ordered 14,000 primers and 24 pounds of gunpowder. That comes to about $0.71 per item if you consider a pound of powder as one item and box of 1000 primers as one item. Over all that comes to about 3.3%. I don't know of any state that has a sales tax of 3.3%, if you consider the hazmat and handling as a tax equivalent. Also, I never saw any store selling primers for $22/box 1000, $12.88/lb Unique, $13.88/lb Titegroup or $18.13/lb of Varget. These prices, of course, reflect the 5000 packs of primers and 8lb kegs of powder. But then again, local sources are good to have. Our local supply source, who I bought primers from for about $25/1000, sell them now for $50/1000. I think I'll go with Graf for now.

I just paid $70 for 1000 Large Pistol Primers !!! A week ago they were $40. The gun shop is clearly gouging and will not get any more of my business. I guess a lot of people are hording huge lots of components thinking a war is coming, or they are buying to resell and take advantage of the hysteria in progress. A lot of people are going to get stuck when cool heads start to prevail.

I was out of state and found some primers, bought 2000 CCI large rifle. Paid $40 + tax. Might have bought more but didn't know how much I could get away with packing in my luggage with the airlines and in any event, I don't have enough powder to drop over the primers I already have. At least I didn't have a hazmat charge with the airlines. Don

My local dealers have nothing but shotshell primers on their shelves. I had to drive to WVA yesterday and found 500 small pistol primers at a small store, that was all he had. I had plenty of them until last year when I decided to load up a bunch of light stuff to shoot, but never did. I asked him about the price of $3.49/100 since the last ones I bought were under $2.00 a couple years ago. He told me there was a price increase when the price of copper went up but there has been no change since the mass hysteria and his wholesale cost hasn't changed either. Anyway, that was his story and he was sticking to it.

Stopped in a local gunshop over lunch hour; they were out of primers but a they had a customer's display of Winchester small rifle primers at $50/1000.

Kind of wonder where this will all end up...

earlier the evening looked on an online auction site just for laughs and someone had bid 1000 federal 210m primers up to $110 and there was still and hour left on the auction. unreal.
