Today I attended the quarterly gun show at the Cow Palace in Daly City (close to SF). When ever I go, my goal is reloading supplies and I was able to pick up 3 lbs of powder because I waked in the door 5 min after they opened. There were no primers where I bought the powder but the guy said that someone came around just in the last 10 min and bought all his primers. I thought to myself "well, you snooze, you loose" and went on my way. I heard the same story form another guy and again I admonished myself for getting there late (relatively).

Then I came upon a guy that had about 8 bricks of Federal primers and I thought "Oh good!". He told me the price was $80 a brick and I almost died! He then said …"well it hard to find primers these days so if you want them it is $80". I told him where he could go and what he could do to himself.

About ½ hr later, I came upon another guy selling reloads and supplies who said that he was all sold out and that, just before the show opened, there was a guy who came by a bought all his "Federal" primers for $35 each. So……this guys buys all the primers in the place before anyone else can and then marks up the price 100+%!

There ought to be a law….but then we do not need anymore laws restricting things like this.

Well...I just got a 1000 Federal small pistol mag primers for $21.00 + tax at an out of the way outdoor store here in WV. If you search the back woods small dealers, you can sometimes still get a little lucky. I guess at $2.10 per 100, those primers had been sitting on the shelf for some time.

Mark,
It is the same here in Michigan also. Just remember who these folks are that are trying to rape us and when this is all over, dont buy a thing from them! I already have several dealers & people on my list.

Yea, I made mention here of gouging and was told that I was anti-capitalist.

Like I was the enemy or something.

There is capitalism and then there is gouging. If a store or seller pays higher prices for an item and passes it on the the buyer, that is capitalism. On the other hand if you buy all you can find of a scarce commodity and then sell it for 2 or 3 times the normal mark up. That is gougeing. (See oil companies)

Win, is that stores location a secret? I live in Ohio but go to WVA every chance I can, beautiful state. I like to stop in gun stores when I come across them, mostly to make the wife mad.

I have mixed emotions about this form of "capitalism".

I believe the best thing to do is avoid buying from those folks and hope they get stuck with their goods.

I do not buy from them as i do not want to encourage their behavior. Fortunately I don't have to buy from them as I still have primers left from the last "shortage".
