"Where is all this blood coming from?", I said as I was shooting my 22C today. :)

Turns out my slide has the slide-hold-open reinforcement pin in the bottom of the slide is missing. The aluminum started to peen. The burr has been making small cuts from the inside of my right thumb when I use the side release.

Be sure to check the pin is installed. I got mine from the Palmetto State Armory deal.

Mine was the same way from the factory. Gotta feeling someone is QC is in a heap of heat.

10 day turn around to have the pin installed at factory.

I'm considering returning just the upper. My slide is pretty beat up and I would prefer a new slide.

Did they repair yours or replace the slide?

Did they pay for shipping?

They repaired my slide by replacing the missing pin.

I only shot 150 rounds before I notice the missing pin. So damage was only scraped off finish. (no peening)

S&W sent a pre-paid label for shipping via email after I contacted them. Overall I'm happy with their response to the issue.

What is the turn around time? they got my M&P 22compact a week ago.

Thanks for the heads up. Haven't taken mine to the range, yet...but threaded adapter is due here Wed. PS90 I ordered is due here Thu, so I plan on taking them both out sometime the following week.

Got my M&P22C out (bought from PSA as well) and the pin is there.

The amount of damage on your slide warrants replacement, IMO.

I just got off the phone with CS. They said they will email a prepaid FedEx shipping label. I should have it in the mail by the end of today.

Would never have noticed that until it became an issue. Fortunately mine is correct. Thanks for the heads up!

Has 1200 rounds through it as of last night.

So far it is eating ammo I did not expect to work, with the exception of Federal #745, #510, and #510B, and Winchester Wildcat 1255fps. Those all jam badly - fail to extract completely, and feeding issues such that it does not chamber the next round (slide falls on an empty chamber, does not carry the next round to chamber - perhaps ejecting, but not moving the slide back far enough). I suspect an issue with the rim sizing.

Runs great with CCI SV in the 100 round black box from the WalMart sale. Which is good, as my local store still has some today. Its on my way, so have stopped often. Not a great bulk price, but it works and I have some, so ...

I got an update today. My M&P22C was returned by fedex 10/13. It arrived @ S&W 10/15. The s/n# went into their system 10/20. The ETA back to me is 10-12 more days.

Thanks for posting this, I just checked my PAS purchased 22c. The pin is in place where it should be. BTW, I have fed it Federal, CCI, Hanson, Remington, ARMSCOR, WW all without any ftf. It has run like a champ so far. For $250 I'm a happy camper.

What do you all think the most accurate ammo is for 22 compact

I am buying one next weekend and have a element 2 on the way within the next two months

I got mine back today. S&W replaced the slide. I hoped they would throw in a free mag for the lost time but.... I'm grateful they paid for shipping and did a good job on the repair.

Being that it's a pistol, at the distances you're shooting it really doesn't matter unless your shooting in competitions. That being said, most anything that's most accurate for a 22lr would also be most accurate in a pistol. that usually means the stuff that costs more!

EXCELLENT!!!!

Glad they are still stepping up to the plate when problems pop up.

Wondering if the pin was there and possibly worked its way out? It sad to think QC is that poor that the pin was never installed.

I had the pistol less than 2 weeks when I notice the missing pin. I looked in the pin hole with a loop and my guess was it was not installed.

Has pin, not from PSA. Never would've known it existed until seeing this! S&W Should treat you right, they've always done well for me
