I read some good reviews about this company although they were older (2-3 yrs) and decided to give it a try. I purchased the full package that was offered. On the 19th of this month I downloaded the software. When I opened up the program it offered to do an update. I attempted to do that but received a bad certificate error. I sent in a request for assistance. No response. When I tried to register the software with the info provided to me I received the error message that the registration was invalid. I sent another request for assistance. No response. On the 26th I sent a request to their billing dept. for a refund. No response.

Does anybody know anything about this outfit or how to speak to a human?

MyGunDB is not a rip-off, I was one of the original beta testers and it is a great program. Last I heard, it was still a one-man operation though and you must have caught him at a busy time. I'd give him some time and I'll be surprised if he doesn't get the problem corrected. It is, IMHO, the best program of it's type out there.

Glad to hear its a great program. But it's been 9 days since I opened the 1st of 4 support tickets with them/him and no response. The tickets say 24-48 hr response time.

As I understand it their has been family health issues and one death of a parent. I believe that the poor guy is just in a overload situation. I also saw on his Face Book page that they just had a baby born after many serious complications. I have had the program since it was in its initial offering and like it a lot.

This is a part time business for the guy. I've had the app for 3 or 4 years and have had only one problem and that was with Adobe Air and was corrected within a week. I find it to be just what I need. I am running OSX though.

Sounds like you bought a product that has little to no customer support at this time for whatever reason. I think it's time to dispute the charge on your card and move on. At least until someone contacts you.

That is what my intention was at first. But a couple of posters said he was having some personal problems and I thought about giving him a little time to work thru his issues. I've continued to reach out to him but no response. So I'm done.

I have similar problems - with a data base which no longer works. I've sent two service requests and six e-mails over five months - all with no response. This guy is still selling this data base but offers no service.

Wow, haven't even used my software in at least 2 years.. I could spend weeks updating my collections. Sorry to hear there has been issues. I was one of the guys recommending this software. I'll have to poke around and see what happened..

MYGUNDB NO Support

There is still no support for MYGUNDB. Yet, it is still being sold. Whatever problems this guy is having, he at least needs to stop selling it until it is supported AS ADVERTISED! Otherwise, legal problems may add to his woes!

It's a shame it didn't work. It looked like something that I could have used.

Being that this op was over a year ago I went with hand written sheets kept in clear plastic sleeves. Works great for me.

There's a new, top notch gun database program. Versatile and extremely powerful. It also is safe, doesn't install on a computer. You can run it from a portable hard drive or USB drive and store it under your pillow at night. The site is at: Firearms Database | Gun Database Software Hand Guns, Rifles, Pistols. Keep records of your firearms, ammo, accessories, contacts and even the range. For Windows 7, 8 or 10.
