My 10rd long mags showed up today, and I've followed all the modification threads and posts on here in anticipation of their arrival. However, now that they're here and oh so beautiful, I have a bit of hesitation to dismantle and cut them down. Has anyone had any trouble afterwards and regretted the modification (since it voids the warranty?) Thanks for your input!:D

No regrets. Modded mags work perfectly for me. Easy to do. Go for it!

Had the 4 I ordered delivered to work.
UPS arrives around 10:30 each day.
Mine arrived yesterday.
I spent 10 minutes eating a sammich my wife had made for me.
I spent 20 minutes modifying the 4 - 10's into 4 -32's.
I spent the other 30 minutes admiring my work.
Best.lunch.hour.EVER!!!!

I tested my 2 modified mags this past Sunday and they both worked flawlessly. Ran almost 200 rds through them without a hiccup. Couldn't be happier with them. Glad I did it.

Yesterday my order of five 10rd. 15-22 magazines by ProMag arrived. Last night I modified the first of those five magazines to hold 32rds. It was exceedingly easy. Results were perfect. While I had the magazine apart I looked closely at its construction. The quality of materials, design, fit and finish are simply excellent. The magazines lock up tight in the receiver of the rifle. I cannot see how one of the magazines could be worn/damaged short of a nuclear explosion. Tonight I have every intention of modifying the other four magazines that arrived yesterday. If things slow up later this week I hope to get an opportunity to take these magazines, my 15-22 and a nice selection of ammo and head for the range! Given how very well the converted magazine works hand cycling ammo through the rifle, I've no doubts that all of the magazines will work very well firing live ammo in the rifle.

So I put that fancy dremel I have to use, and did 'em up pretty. They fit 32 rounds perfectly! I was like a kid on Christmas as I pulled my UTG Deluxe Covert Homeland Security case out to fill up the magazine holsters... only the ProMags are TOO LONG! Oh well, you win some, you lose some ;) Guess that means if I want to fill the holsters, I'll have to buy some OE S&W 25 rounders when they become available again!

Thanks again for all the support!

They BARELY fit in the mag holsters in my bulldog case. These puppies are definitely long! As hard as the OEM mags are to find though, I'm not gonna complain. At least I can shoot more than 25 rounds before reloading now!!

dont be scared, just do it.make sure you leave 1 3/8" behind after cutting off the limiter.then round it off like the original and you are set.i did my 2 mags in about 10 minutes and they hold 32 rounds.

The 1st thing I did was measure and cut off 1 3/8" off end the 1st follower I removed. This became my template for marking the curve for for all 4 of my modifications.

I placed an order for 4 - 32 rounds magazines on Sunday... Almost sorry that I don't get to do the modifications again!

Can someone please explain to me why almost every magazine modification thread almost never includes the caveat of legality of state and local laws?

I modified all 7 of mine the other night..
They all work feed very nicely.. However, I am having 1 small issue..
On the last round, it does not chamber, and the bolt holds open like it should when there are no more rounds in the mag??
Even though there's 1 last round in the mag....
I thought I saw a comment from someone else with the same issue...
Just couldn't find it...

Because they presume the reader knows the laws of their particular state. An invalid presumption, obviously, based on reading a lot of posts. Some folks also assume that every state's laws are the same as theirs - again, invalid assumption.

Then again, some folks are just ... :)
