I have nothing to offer on this one myself (at least not that I own), but I know there are some of you out there in possession of one of a kind (or close to it), ultra-rare specimens. Let's see some pictures and hear what stories you know about them. I do have some pictures I've saved over the years, but I'll give actual owners a chance to post first; especially the gentlemen who bought the fine .356 TSW the other day when it went past my budget. :) Including it, I've seen two highly customized pistols with frame mounted safeties in the past year (think 1911 style), so there has to be more floating around out there. Do please share.

They tell me they only made 130 of these babys.

We will be hearing from Grinder at some point ;-)

Now we're getting somewhere. Grinder, that 4006 is exactly the type of thing I'm talking about. So what constituted a Stage I or II? Was there a Stage IV? The others are fine examples of rare birds as well, albeit not that unusual in design/features. Grinder of course you had to bring up those two-tone 952's...I should have bought those myself. :) Palmetto, that DPA is supposedly pretty rare as well, glad I have one of its twins in the safe.

Well I'll add a few more. These are not mine and I honestly don't remember where I got them. So if I happen to post a picture of your gun and for whatever reason you don't want it in this thread, please let me know and I'll take it down. If you don't mind, then please share its background.

A variant of a European Target Champion I haven't seen before:

A bad picture, but what appears to be another Stage III gun similar to Grinders:

Grinders gun was one of those in the order , also Im pretty sure the 4506 was ordered by another officer at the academy in the Tactics section,He post here frequently, I put the Novak competition sights on it,(NO not the dings),in the armory, remember really coveting it. Mike shot it quite a bit .Its the only one I have ever seen or even heard of.REB

CalReb,
Thank you for the info
Great to learn about some rare runs
Was the front NS standard on the run?
Thanks

Beautiful PC 4566 CALREB!

Thanks for sharing it with us. The perfect S&W 45 IMO. Regards 18DAI.

My memory isnt what it used to be so I dont remember if your 4506 originally had night sights and I just replaced the rear or not.It did have a regular novak type rear originally. The 4566s were all ordered per what the individual wanted so some may have been ordered with night sights or without. At the same time we ordered probably 40 regular 4506's from S/W and you could have night sights for about 50-60 extra or buy them later and have the armory put them on. My P/C 4566 does not have night sights. I know 2 other guys that still have theirs and I will check and see if they have night sights.

I should have been more specific.
The 4566 has a front NS and a black Novak rear
The 4506s are NS
Thanks

The 130 pcs I refer to is the way the gun is set up.

Two Tone, wavy serations, and the blaze orange front sight.

Now I know some of you boys have some Briley compensated models. Let's see some of those. Anyone know how many of those were made and what options were available?
